Format: Unabridged

Length: 15 mins

Language: English

Release date: 11-09-12

Publisher: Drac Von Stoller

Publisher's Summary:

John Edwards was an avid collector of antiques. He would travel all over the United States to find unique antiques and anything else that most collectors would pass on. John was happy with his collections but he was looking for something his friends would say find intriguing.

John found himself traveling through a little town called Pleasantville. The town was so small you could throw a rock from one end of the town to the other. John just about missed the town and the rare antique he had been waiting to add to his collection for so long. Then all of a sudden he slammed on his brakes. He backed up his car in front of a sign that was dusty and barely hanging on to the wooden post. John got out of his car to read what was on the sign. He dusted off the sign and said, "Wow! I'm glad I stopped in the nick of time or I would have never known about this place."

John got back in his car and traveled down the gravel road in search of this antique store. John must have been traveling down the gravel road for more than 30 minutes. Just as he was about to say Forget it, and drive back home, he came across a sign that read Pleasantville Antique store.

John pulled in to the Antique store and parked his car. He looked up at the sky and got one glimpse as the sun was setting. As he got out of his car the wind was picking up and a storm was on the way. Right as John opened the door to the antique store, it started storming. John called out to see if anyone was in the store. Then an old man shouted out and said, "I'll be with you in just a moment. There are milk and cookies on the table if you're hungry from your long drive."

Title: Scared of the Dark

Author: Drac Von Stoller

Narrator: Ted Brooks

Format: Unabridged

Length: 8 mins

Language: English

Release date: 10-25-12

Publisher: Drac Von Stoller

Genres: Fiction, Horror

Publisher's Summary:

Michael was the youngest in his family - just eight years old - and loved to watch his favorite TV show called Dark Shadows. Michael's older brother David and his sister Susan would constantly sneak up while Michael was watching Dark Shadows in the dark and scare him. Even though his brother and sister did a good job scaring him, what really scared Michael the most was the vampire Barnabas Collins.

At night when Michael would get under the covers he would shake like a leaf and slowly pull the covers over his head. Michael's bedroom didn't have a door, which scared the living daylights out of him.

One stormy night when Michael was lying in bed trying to sleep, he saw a black cat walk across his window, just as the lightening lit up the sky. Michael jumped out of bed and ran down the hall to his parent's room to sleep in their bed until morning. Michael's parents told him to stop watching Dark Shadows and maybe his fear of sleeping in his bed alone would diminish.

Michael said, "I wouldn't be so scared if my brother and sister would stop teasing me. Every now and then I would pull the covers slowly down below my eyes just enough to turn my head and see my brother walk across my doorway dressed in a cape and tell me he was coming to get me soon. I would just pull the covers over my head and shake like a leaf and pray for daylight."

The next night as Michael was lying in bed, the caped figure went passed his bedroom doorway and the figure said, "Soon, very soon, you will join the dead."

Title: Killer Bedtime Stories

Author: Drac Von Stoller

Narrator: Ted Brooks

Format: Unabridged

Length: 7 mins

Language: English

Release date: 10-24-12

Publisher: Drac Von Stoller

Genres: Fiction, Horror

Publisher's Summary:

Billy and Susan loved to hear their father read stories to them every night at bedtime. Susan told her brother, Billy, that the stories were for little kids. Susan said, "Billy I love dad, but I wish he would read scary stories to us instead of stories like Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. They were okay when we were younger, but we are so much older now."

"I feel the same way. I like it when mother and father go out to dinner at night so we can watch scary movies together," replied Billy.

"Next time we spend the night with grandma, maybe we can sneak out of bed and see if she has any old creepy books in her attic. If she does we can give them to our father to read to us instead of those boring stories he's been reading over and over for the past several years!" exclaimed Susan.

"Tonight we'll ask him if he'll let us spend the night at grandma's house this weekend. I'm sure he'll say yes," said Billy.

31?

Thirty one stories in three pages? Ha! Since it was free I decided to check it out. It's only one very short (badly written) story.

Title: Mrs. Molesworth's Ghost Stories: The Last Four Uncanny Tales

Author: Mary Louisa Molesworth

Narrator: Susie Berneis

Format: Unabridged

Length: 2 hrs and 44 mins

Language: English

Release date: 10-19-12

Publisher: Freshwater Seas

Genres: Fiction, Horror

Publisher's Summary:

We have the pleasure of presenting not only three more stories by Mary Louisa herself, but also one by her son, Bevil. The first story, "The Shadow in the Moonlight", is one of her scariest. A plucky young lady and her brothers confront a ghost that brings the cold of death. Can they resist?

The second story, "At The Dip In The Road", is classic Molesworth - a sudden, mysterious encounter that leaves us with unanswerable questions of life and death.

In "Old Gervais", we encounter a different sort of ghost - one that cares very much about work left unfinished and clients left unsatisfied. Who knew that ghosts care about customer service?

Last but not least, the story by her son, Bevil, not only captures a wonderfully uncanny moment, but also presents us with a rare glimpse of life in Patagonia a century ago. It's pretty generally thought that Mary Louisa did a pretty thorough revision of it, but it's a good story and clearly one that she cared about very much. Enjoy!

Good try

Muddling, plotless. Not up to par. Read the whole tome but with reluctance. Have seen better works from this author.

Title: The Witch

Author: Drac Von Stoller

Narrator: Peter Jude Ricciardi

Format: Unabridged

Length: 16 mins

Language: English

Release date: 10-15-12

Publisher: Drac Von Stoller

Genres: Fiction, Horror

Publisher's Summary:

Just over the hill stood a shack where the most beautiful woman you ever laid eyes on lived. Her hair was blonde and wavy; her eyes as blue as the sky. Her figure would make any man lose his breath. The only thing wrong with this picture was: She was a witch. Her name was Sarah and she was an evil witch at that.

Members Reviews:

Errrrr... What? When was she even Wicked...?

This is a really good idea for a story, but isn't a story yet. I got sucked in by the first paragraph, then everything basically deteriorated to "she lived, she died, she was resurrected, she died, the end." No, that is not a story. Hey, where are the other 30 tales mentioned in the title? I'd feel ripped off it weren't free and took more than 5 minutes of my time to read!

Could have been more interesting.

This story needed better explanations like how did the towns folk find out Sarah was a witch.I liked the idea of revenge. But such short lived revenge made the story feel very dull.

Five Stars

Good read

Witch

Entertaining read. A baby girl given up to an old woman at birth who grows into adulthood and reeks havoc on her town and anyone who dares cross her.
