Something fishy at the aquarium
The 13th book in the Tea Shop cozy mystery series finds Theo as one of the caterers at a new aquarium. As she wanders around while taking a break, she is stunned to see a body in one of the exhibit tanks. She is even more shocked when she finds out that it was her ex-boyfriend, Parker. When Theo sees the body after it is pulled out, she is convinced that this was no accident. Theo feels compelled to investigate. There are several suspects: Parker's new girlfriend, who inherits his estate and restaurant, a local restauranteur, who is also trying to steal Haley from the tea shop, or an investor with shady connections, or perhaps a member of the board for the aquarium, among others. In addition to her busy schedule, Theo is participating in a charity virtual scavenger hunt, helping her Aunt Libby with another charity event, and trying to keep up with her new relationship. When she gets a little to close to the truth, Theo's life, along with some of those close to her, may be in danger unless she can figure out who did the deed. As usual, the book is filled with tempting descriptions of teas and tea goodies, and has several recipes at the end of the book as well as tips for tea and tea parties.
Uncommon Territory
Childs treads into seldom-ventured territory killing off a supporting character. Refreshing.
