A is for Love, or Illicit Sexual Encounter

Editor Tyler opens her intro with three lines of song lyrics specifically evoking "love," then admits in the 2nd paragraph that "amour" is a "vague theme." Okay, that makes "amour" for her a synonym for love. Okay, by me, pretty much. I've always thought of "amour" as a deeply sensual one-on-one relationship stoked by equal parts infatuation and love, and plenty of lust. My amour is highly romantic, very long on physical setting, texture and anticipation, reveling in every single aspect of the relationship, and of being in love. It's candles, beaches, dark bedrooms and rich linens, lingerie and flowers, crimson lipstick and tweed suits, all that stuff and a lot more. Amour is the entire package, the enjoyment of bitter-cold winter nights, thrilling in the downpour, the smell of the sea, all because of that mutually recognized and treasured attraction and requited love, its pervasiveness and its deeply realized effect on both parties.

But just to be sure, I looked up "amour" to find that its primary definition is an illicit or secret love affair or sexual relationship. So, boys and girls, "amour" can be love, but not necessarily.

It's not clear which amour Tyler is capturing in this book. If you're coming at the book from the notion of romantic love, this little collection (12 stories in 129 pages, in a 5" x 7" package) will kind of get you there. If you're focused on the illicit sexual relationship, you'll probably get more out of it.

That is not to say the content is bad here, not so. It's just that the theme is tough to nail down, and you should have the right expectations coming in. The stories are varied, mostly man-woman, although you do get a few woman-woman and one man-man. There are a number of the stories that are very much about the illicit relationship, including some adultery (which struck me as pretty solidly trampling amour underfoot). There are a couple of stories for the hip and trendy, with mention of tattoos and piercings.

I particularly liked "The Blonde in 1812," a very creative tale of fantasy and how to keep a relationship alive and fun. Good on Jeremy Edwards for penning "her transcendent feminine grip" in "Le Petit de Jeuner," which got the closest to my idea of amour. Then along comes "An Ordinary Love," which is anything but, with scars, a razor, and him giving her a smack in the face. I get the point of their love, sure, but that's really not for me, and was not erotic.

the story was OK. the narrator was about the worst I've heard. really ruined the experience. glad it was a short one.

Mr. Taylor's voice was nice, but the pauses and the distortion on the audio was very bad.

To read this slow on audio is not a good idea.

Great Story Worst Narrator EVER!!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Great little short story of shifter/human gay love; BUT the WORST NARRATOR & NARRATION EVER!!! You can hear gum/lip smacking, swallowing, drinking, pauses to catch breathe, & more.

It ended. Though I do actually like the Brac Pack series.

Really really enjoyed the variety of the stories

Really really loved the variety of the different stories. Each one captivating me in a different way. On a few of the reads, I was so into story, I really didn't want it to end.

Just Say NO. So Very Boring.

Tame Writing. The excitement just isn't there. This is a farce. It's very difficult to get into whatever sex Sacchi is trying to sell. If I was a virgin I'd be totally lost. Like, huh? The outside cover photo/art is the best thing it offers. If I could give 1/9 of a star I would. Sacchi should be paying us for time lost from our lives.

Erotica for 13 year old boys

CLEAVAGE BEARING TOP

This had a lot of promise. The premiss for the story was good, and that is why I got it. This loser has a watch, which puts people under his control for life. He decides to put the cheerleader coach and her cheerleaders under his control in order to impress his girlfriend. The cheerleader coach knows she is hot and too good to give this guy the time of day. The Cheerleader captain, is gorgeous and uses her beauty to control men. She does not like sex, but will give BJ's or hand jobs to get what she wants. She is also mean and is always putting others down.

A good start, but when it gets to the sex part, it is R rated. I was expecting a lot harder porn. There is very little sex and what their is, is not well described. she did this and he did that. No mention about how it feels.

The production was good and the narrator was top notch.

If I had come upon this story when I was 13, I would have loved it. I would have read it over and over for a week.

One interesting aspect of the story, is that most people would think the fantasy is a loser having sex with beautiful cheerleaders. In real life what makes it interesting is humiliating snobby women. That is the bigger turn on. You may think this is just a guy thing, but the highly successful and pretty good series, Beautiful Bastard, is this story in reverse. A woman hates her boss, and he is mean to her, but he is hot and they end up having all kinds of sex, while hating each other.

Skip Nadia and get Virginia Wade's Viking series. The Cum for the Viking series is excellent.
