Good For People Who Like to Watch or Be Watched

This is a good collection of voyeur and exhibition stories (let's be honest, a lot of us like to watch). It has variety, so you don't feel like you're reading the same story over and over again. They also don't feel like they belong in Letters to Penthouse. It has straight couples, gay/lesbian couples, and a few with more.

That being said, several of the opening stories didn't do much for me. I was actually on the verge of discarding the book until I got to "Audience Participation", which involves webcams, being broadcast, and catching people who irritate you doing naughty things. "Glass" had a few interesting twists. "Missing Michael" was a m/m story with a sweet touch that everyone can enjoy. "Calendar Girl" was a nice ending. IMO, "Audience Participation" is the best story of the collection.

Hookups...nothing more

I get angry with myself when I don't finish a book but the reason I don't finish a book is because it is just horrible.

If you want short spurts of lust with random people having sex, this is a book for you. I need to avoid books like this because I like a plot, twists, characters I can understand or appreciate and a sense of satisfaction when I finish a book. None of these characters are likeable. It's just people hooking up, having sex and moving on as I have moved onto another book.

I bought this book as a Kindle Cloud purchase, and was very unsatisfied with it.

Basically, it's a compilation of submitted short stories, focused around the theme of scopophilia (voyeurism is watching without permission, scopophilia is watching with consent), but the quality of the writing feels like reading bad anonymous forum fiction. Too much of the book is filled with women authors throwing crude words around to try to impress male readers, without actually containing anything erotic... as a female reader, I was left with the feeling of having been smacked in the face with it. There's also a heavy element of non-hetero play, isolating those that wish to read hetero action, but there's no warning of it before you purchase.

It's a BEEBO !

This is a prequel and I stupidly read it first not knowing but what can you do ,if you read the other books first you would all ready be introduced to Miss Brinker but if like me you go here first this introduces you to a young lesbian running away from her past and into the Village a Lesbo Mecca there she meet's the great Jack Mann a Homosexual who take's her in and teaches her about her new world .

This was written in the fifty's it's not just set there, the language and the opinions reflect that fact something of which I found quite fascinating ,Ann Bannon the writer give's an intro and I enjoyed that as much as the book it's self ,also I would like to give a nod to the narrator outstanding.

Last in the Beebo Brinker series, a prequel.

This, the last book of the Beebo Brinker chronicles is really a prequel showing us the influences that shaped Beebo Brinker before the events of the first four novels. Here we see the life of a butch, a woman with boyish features who wants to dress like a boy. In later years she might have considered herself a transgender person. In the 1950s such a boyish looking woman would have been considered a freak. She came to New York City at age 18 having run away from a Wisconsin small town. She meets Jack, who is introduced in this book as well as being around age 33, having served as a paramedic in the military during WWII. Beebo comes under Jacks protection as she gets her first lessons in relationships with a woman. Its also very compelling.

Interesting glimpse into a life

Not a book I would normally go for, but a very enjoyable read. Believable characters and a good narrative.

Weak badly written porn

I found this novel, a weak excuse for its title. It was empty in content, relying on the sexual interplay which was, in my opinion, badly put together and got tedious and boring. The main players were half baked and not very believable and at times acted out of character. It was one big yawn. Don't waste your money.
