Members Reviews:
A good read.
I had no idea that so many tried the trans Atlantic crossing in such a varied style and in such differently equipped boats. And for so many different reasons. The sea has drawn (and quartered) many throughout history. She gives up her secrets but demands payment in turn for every one. A good read.
A great book as a gift or two own
I believe to this point I bought 15 to 17 copies of it and giving it to friends because I feel that it is one of the most interesting books I've read in recent past. The account of Jack Schultz who I knew well and worked with is completely accurate and based on that level of accuracy I imagine the rest of the book is equally so
A Thorough Treatise
This book reads like a treatise on small boat voyaging, but maintains the reader's interest and goes even further by inspiring the reader to develop great admiration and regard for these courageous men (the sailors are mostly men). A "must read" for anyone interested in small boat voyaging.
I love it
No problems. Thanks.
Astounding stories well told.
Astounding stories well told. Stories of delusional, niave, and competent sailors taking small (very small) craft to sea. Covers mostly those who survive these undertakings.
