Must read
As a physician, I would think everyone who works in a hospital should be required to read this book, and anyone about to enter a hospital as a patient would probably have a better outcome if they read this first
Killer Care - Health Care Needs Emergency Care Now !
This is an excellent book, well-researched and well written. And, it is long overdue in the effort to create a humane health care system which actually delivers health. A startling eye-opening read.
Very good book
This is is very revealing book. It shows how medical errors cost us so much money. The hospitals and the medical profession usually ignore recommendation bu epidemiologists. They have to be figuratively beat over the head with penalties from medicare before they will do anything. It's really astounding to me how the media and the politicians constantly whine about how high medicals costs are and how medicare is running out of money. It's all the patients fault because they use too much medical care. If they would focus on how much the medical business wastes by refusing to implement epidemiological recommendations, the medical costs, and deaths from medical malpractice, would go down,
Another thing that the media and the medical profession focus on is the "enormous" cost of defending against medical malpractice. What a lie! According to the author, who is a lawyer, only about 5 to 10% of medical malpractice suits result in judgments against the defendants.
