Somehow this series keeps getting better and better and I'm not sure how she does it. Elle Kennedy really set the bar high with the first book of this series and somehow she keeps going strong.

This is the story of Ethan and Juliet. We first saw them together in a prior novel, where Juliet felt like he was so young and fresh faced.

Now they are thrown together when she needs help, resulting in another combining of Noelle and Morgan's forces to save the day. It's fast paced and interesting. I haven't felt like any of these books have resulted in a retelling of the same story, like happens in most series. I don't want to give it away, so just read for yourself. You'll love it.

I've got a Girl Crush...

Ok, Juliet has given me a girl crush... I mean she is seriously an awesome heroine. She is fiercely set on avenging her brother and Lord help anyone who gets in her way.

I never would have expected Ethan to be such a strong, aggressive hero, but was so happy that he was because Juliet needed to let herself be vulnerable to someone. Ethan saw beyond her deathly skills and sarcastic comments. She continuously baited the poor guy and he never backed down.

The action and suspense was fast paced. I kept me flipping page after page until I had devoured every word and was satiated. Definitely a "one-click" series...

I will saw the same about the entire serious -- INCREDIBLE !!!-- I could not stop reading !!!-- I LOVED THESE WOMEN .. sassy, strong and stubborn.. oh, and killers :).. Men where just as strong to handle them.. both sexes where well written and did not come off as fake .. Well written.. I love a book with some back story but ALOT of conversation between the characters.. constantly bringing in the other characters as well.. you learn about one and they stay involved.. READ THE ENTIRE SERIES !!!! -- not something you can understand by jumping in the middle and reading one.

No time to review

I've been burning through these Killer Instincts novels for the past week and not leaving a note other than to confirm they are 5 star reads. Every one of them. Sorry, I've got to get to the next one. If you're reading this, make sure you put enough time and money away to do all of them. And do them in order. There's a story thread revealing itself throughout that is so tantalising you won't want to miss it. On to the next one...see y'all!

The narrator....

I thought it was a good story, I just didn't like the reader very much. The inflection was either wrong or nonexistent the whole time.

Linda Howard? Doesn't seem like it.

The narrator was horrible but she completely ruined a book that could have been great. Producers, authors or whomever is in charge of selecting narrator, selecting the right narrator ( for an audio book) is as important as the book itself. At times, the book was so boring, It was hard to finish it.

Not Linda Howard's best

Both main characters were hard to like, especially Robert. The narrators interpretation of Evie made her sound old and slightly stupid. Overall not it was a hard book to finish.

4 stars. Good story. Intense emotions.

"He done her wrong" and she found out.

I enjoyed reading about the characters and their conflicts. Robert's passion at the end was mesmerizing. I loved it.

But it dragged in the middle. When I read the paperback several years ago I didnt notice the slow middle, but I felt it recently when listening to the audiobook.

Nice diverse story but there is cliff hanger!

I enjoyed the story and really got into the drama but, was irritated with the ending. Still it was nice and kept me interested. I'm a sucker for dad's protecting kids. I hope Erosa Knowles cranks out more audible stories soon. I think this is worth a listen.

Man with out a FACE~ early Howard suspense~ 3 STAR

PLOT: Jay is asked by the FBI to ID a badly injured man who COULD be her ex husband.

Jay is having a horrible day. She is fired from her job so her boss's flaky son could

take her job and the FBI shows up at her door. They ask her to ID her ex husband "Steve"....and they have plenty of questions but give her few "answers." "Steve" is in a coma and covered in bandages. And under guard at Bethesda Naval Hospital no less. (before DNA)....the FBI agents take Jay there where she confirmed it IS Steve.

Enter Steve......in a coma and 'drawn" to the voice at his bedside (Jay) who helps calm him

and deal the overwhelming pain. As he slowly comes out of the coma.....HIS heavily bandaged hands and face

make Jay his LIFELINE for his physical and emotional recovery.

THE FBI enable Jay to remain by his side.Jay is very drawn to the CRANKY recovering man who has NO memory. *WARNING* (spoiler here) when the bandages are finally removed from his eyes after another surgery Jay realizes the man is NOT Steve. Why was Steven involved with a secret plot and why was he killed? and who is the man she is NOW

in love with and WHY is he still under guard? this is a good early Linda Howard Romantic Suspense audiobook. Kell Sabin is loosely added to the mystery. Lesa Lockford is a good reader. NOT Howards best book but still entertaining the mystery is well done. I give it 3 STARS over all.

An old favorite from my keeper shelf

I was so excited to find this book in audio form. It's been on my keeper shelf for years. There's not anything I can find about this book that I don't love. As far as the narration goes, I wish Jay wouldn't have been given such a breathy voice. More like the narrator's real speaking voice would be better.

One of my favorites

I rarely read the same book twice. This book I have read/listened to at least 5 times. It is a great story. Linda Howard is a one of my favorites also.

Skeptical At First But Author Pulled It Off!

The Battle of the Authors ~ Male versus Female!

While looking for something new to listen too on Amazon, I came by Bad Boy Daddy by chance. The cover along with the 2,000+ reviews caught my eye, but what really intrigued me, was the male author's bold claim, "I'm a bad boy who writes about bad boys! I write them. You fall in love with them. It's as simple as that." With a challenging statement like that, I was compelled to give Chance Carter's writing a chance to see if he could measure up to some of my favorite female authors, and if he could truly deliver a steamy romance. Grudgingly, I have to admit he delivered a steamy, edgy romance with a heart-warming HEA. However, there were a few times I almost lost interest, but stuck it out, and by the end I was glad I took a chance on this story.

Some spoilers:

Normally when I listen to a audiobook, I want hear and enjoy the story as the author envisioned and wrote it, and not necessary how I think the story should be told. With that being said, I liked the plot and characters; however, there were a few of things I felt could have taken this story's rating from three stars to five stars for the story rating portion.

First, it felt like I was listening to two different stories. The first half of the story was raw, crude, and all about saving Faith and taking everything she has to give, a life for a life. The second half of the story was about reconnecting and how much they loved each other. It was slightly jarring; however, there was a transition from one to the other so this is just a minor complaint.

Second, there were several really detailed steamy hot sex scenes that were well written but they were slightly on the cruder side (The spitting thing just didn't work for me.) However, I felt these characters really needed more chemistry, and drama built up between them to help the listener become invested in both the H/h. After knowing Faith for just a short time, Jackson decided he would protect Faith even if it meant he would die, and all he expected in return was for her to get pregnant so she could carry on his family line. They spend a few days together, have unprotected sex and then Jackson leaves to carry out his plan knowing he could possibly die and it was way too soon to even know Faith was pregnant. This is where I almost lost interest in the story, and where I felt the author could have built up the chemistry and drama to help ensure the listener was invested in the characters and their fate.

A superb, madcap, soul stirring adventure

I listen to a great many audio books -- mostly MM of late -- including all of Josh Lanyon's offerings. Aaron Landon is hands down in my top tier of top tier performers. His animated and nuanced narration here is captivating. No caricatured voices, no over-dramatizing. Just pure talent for breathing voice to an already superb story. Mr. Landon graced each character with a distinctive and utterly appropriate voice. I was 100% engaged and entertained and will be looking up more of his work.

From the opening paragraph I was hooked on this superbly written, madcap, yet soul stirring adventure. Jefferson Blythe was a character I was immediately rooting for and intrigued by. The manner in which he followed his grandfather's old guidebook - in fact the inclusion of text from an actual 1960 copy of Esquires Europe In Style was a brilliant thread throughout the story. It served to illustrate how important it was for young Jefferson to honor his grandfather while experiencing the world through his own eyes; while carving his own way. It also helped to make me feel as though I were smack in the locales of the story during the 60s as well as now.

The whacky -and at times surprisingly dark - mystery surrounding Jeffersons mistaken identity dovetailed perfectly with the poignant mystery surrounding his back story with George. And then there was the current mystery surrounding Georges employment I must say I was a bit thrown by the seriousness of some incidents which occurred fairly early in the story. I was expecting a bit lighter fare regarding the mystery elements, but one knows what is said about expectations! Lanyon is certainly a deft hand at serving up entertaining - and often unexpected - twists! Jefferson's mixture of fortitude and vulnerability were something that really hit me in the heart.... I even cried a few times when Jefferson was feeling so confused and dejected about George.

IN THIS BOOK LOVE HAD GOOD & BAD CONSEQUENCES

Yes, love has consequences.... because Alec loved Sylvie (his Sister) he went to work for Rick a drugged up greedy and mean slimeball who ran his illegal underground Fight Club with threats and violence. Alec needed the money to help feed and keep himself and Sylvie from starvation and from becoming homeless because her money cleaning rooms just didn't bring in enough money. The fight was meant to be an easy win.... until Rick flipped Fighters on him and things became violent, brutal, bloody and life threatening.

Sylvie loved her Brother, he was all the family she had, and that love had heartbreaking consequences..... because, as Alec lay bleeding and dying before her eyes and Rick was threatening to do even more deadly damage to him, Sylvie made a bargain with Rick the evil sick Devil of a man. However, that bargain would lead her to Aedan a moody, broody, handsome, haunted and scarred Irish ex Fighter who would be her hope, her salvation, her lover.... and her downfall.

A bitter-sweet story that was full of drama, angst, tension and suspense as well as a sweet and tender push/pull romance that had some long and hot sex scenes between two lovers that Fate had been so cruel to.... but thankfully Destiny was there ready to pick up all the pieces and give them a HEA. It was sometimes dark, sometimes violent and sometimes unrealistic.... it only took 1 month to change her body to fighting fit (yeah right) and her brother lay in a coma for all that time but she never called the Hospital or visited instead she trained and played nicey nicey with Aedan. But it's fiction and call me shallow because I just didn't care about those flaws as they were totally outweighed by the overall plot and the loveable hero and heroine.

What a Great Crime Novel

Can't wait to read next in series. What a tragic love story but is only where this books starts. Really enjoyed performance by Fiona McGuinness she did an excellent job telling this story. One thing that makes it so great is that it could really happen, if it hasn't already. Enjoy!

Lost love

With everyone around her thinking she is going crazy, our bride fights to find the answers to the mysteries surrounding her. Why is everyone dying? This was a really good book!

I tried. There is nothing wrong with the narrator. I just could not get past the multiple ways where we had to suspend belief. I'm. willing to go so far..The information the main character was able to access with ease ( husband's work email and reports, a coroner report, etc etc etc), no. Just no. She goes back to investigate and stays in the Honeymoon Suite? No. It also felt like there were multiple different plots or stories trying to happen. I just got to a point and decided I had enough. I do not recommend this book.

I was very disappointed of the poor writing of this book and will not continue reading any more of these stories.

Another outstanding book about the Caribbean. I remember a bar called Norm's on the Waterfront when I was in Saint Thomas in 71 and 73. The place looked like something out of a Humphrey Bogart movie with its slow moving ceiling fans and the old wooden bar. Turn your stool away from the bar and see the water. I wish I were there now. Megan's Bay, one of the most beautiful in the world. It was once featured in Playboy.

I loved the mystery. I listened non stop. I need one more time in the islands.
