However, there is a secret to contentment no matter what your status is in this world. James teaches that those in humble circumstances should glory in their high position. You should brag about the son-ship you have with the living God. You should rejoice in yourprivileged and rich relationship with God who will bless you with spiritual abundance.

The lifestyles of believers are scrutinized and judged as universal by unbelievers. The reputation of the gospel is heavily tied to the behavior, words and actions of believers. Pastor Tom will challenge you to not simply hear the words of scripture, but to listen deeply, examine yourself and apply it to your life. Make the most of the time and opportunities God gives. God will honor the efforts you make to renounce sin, to grow in relationship with Him and to live a right Christian life.

God’s word teaches that you should number your days to gain a heart of wisdom. This, of course, isn’t natural or easy as you may feel you have all the time in the world to make your life and your Christian witness count. Pastor Tom will encourage you as you step into a new year to be watchful, aware and careful how you walk your life of faith. He will challenge you to watch carefully what you say and do. Be a light in the dark world and make the most of your time and opportunities.
