Fantastic !
This is a GREAT book. My 4 year old learned so much about venom, and a great deal about the creatures that produce venom. It is great for kids up to about 16 yrs.
A fantastic introduction for the budding Toxinologist,Herpetologist, Biologist, etc.
A very well presented introduction to the science of Toxinology for the budding scientist or novice. Surprisingly comprehensive, but yet written with simple explanations for the young reader new to this subject. Despite its simplistic explanations it addresses a complete overview., all the while avoiding some of the most commonly seen misconceptions and even terms often miss used by many professional scientists are presented here in their proper usage. The book although written for the young budding scientist, there are very few people who upon reading will not find themselves learning or at very least refreshed by reminding of key points of that world of Venomous and poisonous animals. I am particularly impressed with its teaching perspective. It is bound to impress upon the student the amazing diversity of these animals, with all their struggles, adaptations in the âPredator-Prey Arms raceâ I am proud to have a played a small part and have my name included acknowledgments.

Publisher: An entire book about things that have venom? Sorry, but I don't think you've got the makings of book here.
Author: There are more venomous animals than most people realize, I think.
Publisher: (Slightly Annoyed) Right, snakes. Look, we have enough snake books at the moment. If you don't mind, I'm very busy now-
Author: Wait! There are more. There's snakes, sure, but there's also spiders and frogs and -
Publisher: Okay, so there are three animals. Still, it seems like a stretch.
Author: And bees, and salamanders, and -
Publisher: Hmm. I guess I never thought of those other ones.
Author: And ants, and scorpions, and -
Publisher: Alright! I was wrong. It seems that there are a ton of animals that kids find fascinating, that also happen to be deadly. You got me. Tell me more.
