Sweet book, Henry & Mudge style. Cynthia Rylant does it again!

I purchased this book as a Valentines Day gift for our 3 year old grandson, as in the book, Henry's parents are going to a "Sweethearts Dance".

I love all of the Henry & Mudge books, just as much as our grandchild . How wonderful it is to give children the gift of fostering a love of reading!

Mrs. Hopper's House

We love Henry & Mudge books! My daughter checked one out from the school library and lost it, so this one was to replace it. This "used" copy was truly in "new" condition and was in better shape than the "lost" book! The library was happy to have it and the price & shipping speed couldn't be beat.

Great stories that are fun to read over and over!

Fun Read

I bought this book as a valentine for a 7 year old who is struggling with comprehension. She loves it. (of course -- All Henry and Mudge books are great). The illustration are perfect to discuss along with the reading.

my 2nd grader (he is in the 3rd grade now) loved all of the Henry & Mudge books.... he read most of them in school and i bought all the ones the school for him to read at home. now, i am saving them for my little one (5 yr old). i'm sure she will enjoy them too.

My kids love Horrible Harry.

I haven't listened personally to the Horrible Harry audiobooks but have read several to my kids. Harry isn't actually as horrible as you might expect from the descriptions.

My 6 year old and 8 year old love to listen to these books at bedtime. My MIL who teaches grade two also recommends them to her students.

Harry's Not So Horrible

Short stories based on the adventures of Harry, an intellegent and mischievious second grader. He tries to play it tough and scary, but he really is a good guy underneath it all. Good for a chuckle. And it opens up some situations for learning to deal with difficult people.

The Kids Love Harry

We have loved Horrible Harry since stumbling across the Christmas one in our local library's audio section. The antics of the kids are mainly truly kidlike, and there are rarely black and white villains and good-guys. My kids are entertained by Harry stories for many, many listenings, and I find myself able to hang with a 5th or 8th listen as well. Harry himself is so imperfect but likeable.

I do wish that the gender-roles were not quite so stereotypical and prominent in these books. Also, although the character Sid is complex - he's often Harry's bad guy, but he's not all-bad, and sometimes Sid and Harry make peace - I haven't yet encountered the same complexity to the character Mary.

Fred Berman is a great sound artist

Fred Berman is among the best narrators for children's stories. My kids have listened to the six Ready Freddy stories over and over for more than my fingers and toes can count. They probably have memorized all the books already. Fred Berman is a genius in sound art. My kids keep asking me when Fred Berman is going to read more Ready Freddy stories? I hope the new ones are coming out soon. Fred Berman, we love you ;-)

I have listened to this story with three different classes and all students fully enjoyed it!

This was a fun book for me and my kids to listen to in the car. we like the Ready Freddy books, and this one was just as I was imagining. the narrator did a great job and kept us hooked until the end.
