Very nice book for kids

Very nice book for kids. My daughter love it. Came very well wraped and without damages. Would recommend this seller and book to every parent and kid looking for a nice book to read.

Wonderful History Lesson

I used this book after reading a simple biography about Harriet Tubman and watching some U-Tubes about the folk song "Follow the Drinking Gourd" with an adult literacy class. Wonderful!! This book would be wonderful for children with background info from teachers or parents. This is a gem!

Who's in Love with Arthur?: An Arthur Chapter Book 10

These Arthur Chapter books are great. It covers most of what was in the T.V. show. Fun and entertaining story. You get to know the characters and the drawings, just like the show, are adorable.

Didn't really like the main issue of the story.

It's a basic reader

It's an Arthur book, nothing really great. My son was working on Arthur books so we bought it. It just doesn't stick out in my mind as that great.

A great read aloud around Valentine's Day

Arthur and Francine are square dancing partners in gym class. They really like dancing together. Arthur's friends begin to think that Francine likes him, because she does nice things for Arthur like giving him her favorite baseball glove. Arthur begins to believe his friends and he distances himself from Francine. The way Arthur is avoiding Francine, causes her friends to think Arthur is in love with her. She begins to distance herself from Arthur. They both get new dancing partners. When they finally confront each other, they figure out their true feelings.

I am a kindergarten/first grade teacher. I read this book to my class around Valentine's Day. It is a great book for students this age. I think the students really like this book because at this age they are teased a lot about liking girls or boys. They can relate to Arthur and Francine in this book.

Clever and Enchanting

I remember when Fiona's Luck first came out. One of my fellow librarians and I literally squealed with delight when we saw it. We said, "St. Patrick's Day. Reader's Theatre." And that is exactly what we did. Once a month, she and I did Reader's Theatre with library books at a local bookstore. This was one of the featured books.

Fiona's Luck is a delightful story with a clever twist. I didn't know how Fiona would resolve her problem until she actually resolved it. Not many people can match wits with a Leprechaun King, but Fiona manages admirably.

As wonderful as the story is, the reason we two librarians squealed with delight was the charming artwork. Kelly Murphy (good Irish name!) creates an Ireland that is both realistic and enchanting. Even in the heartbreaking barrenness of the first few pages, magic lurks in the corners. Her use of color and lighting effects for setting mood is masterful.

Create Your Own Luck!

I was on a mission, as a teacher, to find a book for St. Patrick's Day, that had a moral to the story, and was public school appropriate. This was perfect! I realized that there aren't too many of its kind. I needed a book for 1st grade, that I could use for a writing activity (I am lucky because ... ). I know that I will have this book in my library for years to come! I am very pleased with my purchase.

Excellent!

I love this book as an adult. My 2 kids like it too! They are 2 and 5. It is a great story about being clever. The art is nice and the story is well written. The kids think it is funny and it was a great conversation starter for the skill of being "clever". I highly recommend this one.

Fun!!!!

This book is about toys of a little girl. They move when the little girl is asleep or not is the house or room. It is a great book! It was really fun listening to it!

Good Family Story

Kids 4,6,9 enjoyed this audio book at bedtime. They thought it was funny and the narrator was an excellent reader using voices for the characters. A good, simple, no fuss story for young children!

Bought for a gift

We finally helped Jack and Annie break the spell!

This is the fourth book in the Magic Tree house series, that Jack and Annie had to go on an adventure to receive a gift. After they received wall 4 gifts, they were able to break the spell their traveling companion (Teddy - a little dog) was under... thereby turning Teddy the dog back into a little boy. We thoroughly enjoyed going on these 4 adventures with Jack and Annie. Now we can't wait to see where the next book in this series will take us! The whole Magic Tree house series is a DEFINITE recommend, for us!
