Couldn't put it down
This book will bring you in from the beginning! It is a modern day twist on the Biblical story of JOB, but has a fresh perspective and leaves you turning the pages at every plot twist. It is very well written and each character is impeccably developed! The protagonist-Jonathan Oliver Biggs-seems spoiled at the beginning, but as the story unfolds, his family, business, and life fall apart, his true colors come out and continue to shock you at each turn. He takes you on an action-packed journey that helps you appreciate the true resiliency of the human spirit and faith! Along with Jonathan, some characters you love, while others you love to hate-And just when you think you know who the antagonist is, another twist is thrown in that keeps you on the edge of your seat!
This book is a bit of an adult read (PG-13)-not sexual, but descriptive, with violent scenes (shootings, explosions, pretty much everything that makes a story awesome) The quick moving scenes keep the story moving and forcing you to beg for more!! Overall, anyone who likes intense, amazing stories will LOVE this book! When it's over, you'll be asking yourself, How could a book be this awesome?!
A lot like Clive Cussler!
Yep. It was a great read and I can't wait for the sequel. It reminded me of Clive Cussler's stories about Dirk Pitt. A cool, strong, humble main character surrounded by too many bad guys. The Biblical tale of Job and his struggle with evil is clear in this story as Jonathon goes through great losses, illness and despair. I loved the modern day equivalent of Job's place of moping and thinking. And just like Dirk Pitt's enemies, they don't survive in the end, but there are plenty more to make a sequel worth waiting for.
Kevin Shorkey is a very good writer! I hope he does many more.
Captivating Story & Characters
If I read a book and it takes me over a week to read it then either I'm super busy or that I just didn't really like the book. Usually, I'll keep reading just to get my money back. Kevin Shorkey's book was NOT that kind of book. I finished reading his book in 2 days. It was great and compelling. Great authors leave you wanting more and this book and author delivered!! I wholeheartedly endorse this book. Go out and buy them for your friends and family.
