Spirit Filled, Engaging and Thought Provoking!
What do you do when you have the gift to lay hands on people and they are able to see again, walk again or be saved from a fatal heart attack but you could not use this same gift to save the one woman you love? And who does the Healer turn to when he needs a healing touch?
Chance Howard (aka Brother Word) has the gift. Quiet and unassuming, he lays hands on people and they are instantly healed. Then he vanishes, leaving behind people who are restored and ready to share their remarkable testimony of faith and healing. And although Chance has lost faith and is deeply tormented by the loss of his wife, the one person he was not able to save, even he cannot deny that he has the power to make a difference in the lives of those he touches. But now those he has helped are after the truth. With a skeptical reporter hot on his trail and someone from his past seeking vengeance, Chance is a man on the run. The only way to save himself is to reach out for help no matter what the risk-and put his life and his fate in God's hands...
Derek Jackson has written a spirit filled and engaging book is for anyone who has every doubted that God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
Highly recommended!

Healing Literature
Derek Jackson does a fantastic job at formulating the right mix of faith, healing and redemption. This book was written to both rattle the soul and shake up the lines of faith with both the believers and non-believers alike. It's always good when you can have a refreshing piece of literature on healing and the fact that God is still in the healing business. I am a testimony to his healing powers and in 'Brother Word' that evidence of healing was mirrored throughout the story.
Derek Jacksonâs Novel Brother Word Pulls Together Intriguing Healing Tale
Derek Jackson pulls together an interesting tale of a gifted, troubled young man in the novel Brother Word .
Chance Howard travels the country using his gift of healing on the strangers in need he encounters, living out the passage âthey shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recoverâ (Mark 16:18). His desire to remain anonymous, even to those he has helped, leaves the healed in wonderment and the unbelievers in skepticism. The skeptics doggedly pursue Chance. A reporter on a quest to build his career sets out to prove Chance is a fraud. In addition, someone from his past determines to cause him harm.
Chance attends the service at Hope Springs Church, pastored by T. R. Smallwood.
