This was the third in the Valentine series and I enjoyed it very much. I have not been disappointed in any of Adriana Trigiani's books and the last one in the series did not disappoint. Valentine grows emotionally in this story and finally begins to understand life. This a quick read and a good story. Wish there were more in the series.

I cannot not say enough wonderful things about this trilogy! I am so sorry to see it end. If you ever lived in New York's city Greenwich Village and you are Italian....what can I say, at times I thought she was writing about me, my life and my family. I just loved it, made me laugh and cry...
Please keep writing about Valentine...these books would make a great TV show!
Meraviglioso!
I tend to do things "backwards" so I just finished the third book in the Valentine trilogy before reading the first two! No matter! I fell in love with Valentina and her wonderfully Italian family! Trigiani has a gift for making her characters "real"; each one complete with quirks and endearing flaws that make them come to life on the page.
Valentine's family will make you laugh and cry with them as they help Valentina go from a fiercely independent shoemaker whose work is her life, to Valentina, wife of Gianluca Vechiarelli, who is twenty years her senior and longs to build a new life with his wife in a home in his native Tuscany.
There is so much to love in this book. The writing is superb! Trigiani is as much a craftsman of the written word as Valentine is at designing shoes! For me, the true test of a book is its characters! I must love, hate, or love to hate them, and think about them long after I close the book. The Supreme Macaroni Company was spot on! I can't wait to "back-up" and read the first two books!

I am a great fan of Adriana Trigiani, but this book just couldn't get me hooked. Maybe because it was third in the series, and I haven't read the first two
Valentine Roncalli and Gianluca Vecchiarelli are joining their lives in matrimony. Valentine is a shoe designer who lives in Greenwich Village, in the apartment over the shop where her grandmother before her lived and worked. Gianluca, who is 20 years older than Valentine, is a very patient tanner who must put up with the quirky family of Valentine's. Valentine is committed to continuing her family's shoe business in Greenwich Village, but forces make her look for another site. There are many stumbling stones along the way.
