Buyer Beware

It's a CLIFFY. And not even a little bit. Like, all the way. Nothing irritates me more than not knowing a book has a cliffhanger going in. So I hope the next book is released soon.

But let's ignore that for the moment. It was a great listen. I felt the slow burn but it was still eventful while you felt the burn building. It does follow a lot of the same storylines as a lot of other BDSM books, but I like those and I like this one. Not an issue for me.

Michael Ferraiuolo is not my favorite because his slight lisp makes his voice not as alpha as I would like. But I have listened to enough books by him, that it doesn't bother me anymore. Lia Langola is one of my favorites and she doesn't disappoint at all.

Vanilla with a kick.

At the beginning Michaels female voice made me cringe. I wanted Michael to only do the boys and Lia to do girls///or both, Lia has a good mans tone///. Then I just became so engrossed with the story that I didn't care. I just had to know what happened next.

I am not interested in BDSM However, this story made me want to keep listening. Quinn brought me into the story to make me care, to make me want to fight all of the bad and cheer the good. I laughed out loud at the end and am looking forward to Quinn's next instalment.

Black Obsidian

What was one of the most memorable moments of Black Obsidian?

It was a great listen. I felt the slow burn but it was still eventful while you felt the burn building. It does follow a lot of the same storylines as a lot of other BDSM books, but I like those and I like this one.

Reminiscent Listen of Fifty Shades...

Victoria Quinn is a new author to me, while I have listened to both Lia Langola and Michael Ferraiuolo before. I have not listened to many BDSM books, but I found this one to be quite good and the performances excellent. I thought the story line was reminiscent of the Fifty Shades of Gray. The story is dark, twisted and sexy. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. One Hot Read!

Wow, this is one hot read/listen! If you liked Fifty Shades Of Grey, you will love this. This is much better. Even if youre not into books with sex, the story of the characters draws you in and keeps you glued. Im dying for the next one. I want to know more about the heroines past. I feel like something big is about to happen in regards to the man that showed up at her work at the end.

A story for every taste

I received this book free and my review is volunteer.

With 50 shorts to choose from, you will certainly find something you like.

I'm giving this collection 3 stars because there are so many stories and some are great and some not so good.

The same with the narrators. Some are great and some, the voice just does not fit the character. Most of the shorts are between 20 and 30 minutes, so they are quick.

Good!

A comprehensive variety of stories, good narration and the actuation was fenomenal. A garantied Bonner.

Steamy Erotic Variety

You probably won't like every story in this collection, but there is something for everyone here. I was turned off by the very first story because it used some stereotypes that I found distasteful, and I almost stopped listening. I'm glad I kept going, because that turned out to be the only one I really disliked. I liked some of these stories better than others, but with 24 hours of stories told in approximately 30 minute bites, there is a wide variety of erotic tales. The size of the individual stories makes them a great after-work diversion. You definitely get a lot of bang for the buck (no pun intended;-o) in this audiobook.

The narrators vary from story to story, and they're pretty good overall.

Some good, some not so good

I have several observations about this collection.

1. Some of the stories I found to be erotic. However, such feelings are highly subjective, depending on what "turns one on". There is a fair amount of variation in the stories' quality and in their impact on me.

2. All stories are told from a woman's point of view. This does not detract from the stories themselves but the overall effect is to increasingly wonder what the perception is from the penetrative (as opposed from the penetrated) side. I note that all of the listed writers have names that are typically female but given that some of the stories, or elements thereof, would put-off any woman I know, it made me wonder.

Really Disturbing Stuff

Very rarely does anything horror bother me but this collection was particularly disturbing in a way that might just be purposely gratuitous. That said, it IS called "Stiff Things: The Splatterporn Anthology" and that really says it all. These are sexually disgusting tales where people frequently die. If you're into that kind of thing, you'll love this book! Joe Hempel is an amazing narrator and never fails to deliver - he makes this gross book worth listening to!

I Knew It Was Splatter Porn When I Chose It.

Splatter is a sub-genre of horror that deliberately focuses on graphic gore and violence. Splatter porn adds an additional element of explicit, hardcore sex. Stiff Things is an anthology of splatter porn stories and delivers exactly what the book title advertises. I knew splatter porn wasnt exactly my cup of tea before acquiring this book, but for some reason, I was curious. With that said, even though Stiff Things was not for me, I think it will be well received by those who like this genre. The stories are well conceived. There are some good plot twists. Some of the stories are more disturbing than others, but all deliver plenty of splatter porn for the aficionado.

Joe Hempel narrates this anthology and does a great job. Based on the number of books I have in my collection that he has narrated, I believe Mr. Hempel he can do pretty much any genre and or style.

All-in-all, if this genre of story is your cup of tea, I think youll like Stiff Things. Finally, this audio book was provided by the narrator at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Boom.

Fun if you like a little sick in your life...

I was warned that this was going to be very disturbing but it wasn't too gnarly.

Most of the stories were good. They are pretty typical horror anthology topics presented in an "extreme" fashion.

The narration was excellent, and i'm not just saying that because this audiobook was given by the narrator at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom

Overall: If you understand this isn't Stephen King or Dean Koontz, you'll gave a good time.

Cliffhanger!

Besides the cliffhanger!!! This story was good. I would have given more stars if I didn't have to wait! lol. Though it will be worth the wait, I'm sure. I was totally engaged. Now I have to wait for the rest of the story. I wasn't expecting that. Veronica Holly does a great job. Not sure I've heard her before. But, looking forward to more from both author and narrator.

This is the first review I've ever written, and I'm really only writing it in response to the one that was previously written. That review was so filled with writing errors, and so far from the story that I read, that I just had to write a review (but now that I'm writing one, I know I'll write more). I'm new to super-erotic romance, but Robin Gideon is one of my must-reads. She, and Brynn Paulin, are really the best. As for this story, it's got seriously alpha-male heroes who don't take orders from anyone but themselves. The heroine works for them, and she's intimidated by them--and for a good reason. These are men--international businessmen--who take life by the throat. They're in the banking/finance business, and they want to establish a financial hub in the Caribbean. The heroes and heroine go to the Caribbean and meet the villain who is trying to set up a drug-smuggling network into the United States. They take the heroine with them, and their lives go from professional to wildly, romantically, erotically un-professional. It is the heroine who figures out that the villain wants to do more than just sell his banking interests, and her astute observation heightens her esteem in the eyes of the men she is growing to love. Tension mounts when the villain wants heroine as well as money to finalize the sale of the bank. Our heroes refuse, choosing love over money, and thereby win over heroine's heart in the end. Romance and eroticism is the first priority in the story, with plot and suspense angles being secondary. I loved the fact that the heroes were true heroes, and that the heroine had her doubts about them, but that they won her (heart) over. This is about the sixth or seventh erotic romance I've read by Ms. Gideon, and it's one of the best (the best being "Maria Rediscovers Passion").

TRULY A TWISTED LOVE AFFAIR!

IDK....This is a sick and twisted story...I am curious for book 2 though...

WOW...I dont know that this is a story you can say you like...its a bit overwhelming...its very dark...and well written...and the concept is just brutal..did I like this story? NO..do I like the book and the performance? YES!

I felt for Tess the whole time...she is very strong willed...and I probably would have really hated this dom/sub relationship if it wouldn't have been Tess who really wanted this...and that is how true dom/sub relationships work.

This book was a struggle for me emotionally...I have a hard time with dom/sub forced relationships...this is a brutal story of human trafficking and forced slavery....and if you can not wrap your mind around how some people like pain, crave pain and want pain in there sex lives, and that that is the only way they are satisfied, you do not need to listen to this book!

Tess has always been missing something, she has dark fantasies and is not truly happy with her sweet boyfriend Brax, she also has parental issues and has never really felt good enough, or truly loved.

Lighting Fires

Love this series!

Steamy to the Max

I have to admit, up until I read this novella, I'd never hear of shibari bondage. However, Author Landra Graf's descriptions made me easily forget the fact that I didn't have a clue.

When a grieving son longs to get back into action with a special kind of kink, he turns Madame Eve to find just the right woman. The heroine, Lauren, is curious. She longs for a wild night of passion unlike any she's experienced before.

However, both Sig and Lauren come with a ton of extra baggage and both doubt their ability to handle more than just the one night they'd planned on having. Will their mutual longing and enjoyment tempt them to continue? Or, was this just ... as the series title suggests ... a one night stand?
