"There is not a more important writer working in Australia today." (Bookseller + Publisher)
"Tsiolkas is a hard-edged, powerful writer...leaves us exhausted but gasping with admiration." (The Washington Post)
"The sheer energy of Tsiolkas' writing - its urgency and passion and sudden jags of tenderness - is often an end in itself: a thrilling, galvanising reminder of the capacity of fiction to speak to the world it inhabits." (The Monthly)
"Tsiolkas has become that rarest kind of writer in Australia, a serious literary writer who is also unputdownable, a mesmerising master of how to tell a story. He has this ability more than any other writer in the country." (The Sun Herald)

A book of brilliant short stories from Christos Tsiolkas
A book of brilliant short stories from Christos Tsiolkas. One of the most challenging writers in the world today. Everything is laid bare, and one is pulled into these stories and forced to face oneself, one's beliefs and often those deep-seated prejudices. It may be fiction, but it doesn't feel like it.
Highly recommend his book "barracuda"
Couldn't get into it,
Was expecting another "barracuda" which I couldn't put down, but found myself dreading to pick this one up.
Never finished it.
don't read much fiction but when I do I choose this guy
Well written. Beautiful prose. Insightful observations. Couple of stories don't work but hey! Sometimes I don't know if I'm reading a book or if its a film - that is a sign for me.
Pushes boundaries
Very confronting. Christos continues to push boundaries. Very graphic, so not for everyone, but a fabulous book club discussion.
Look its very well written. Each story is engaging ...
Look its very well written. Each story is engaging. However I found the last 3 chapters too raw, explicit and disturbing.
