Refreshing read on Divine Femininity and Art

Beautiful. Wow. Fascinating. Refreshing. These are but a few of the words that came to mind as I read through Stephanie Georgieff's book on the Black Madonna. I found that it was an excellent look at psychology, science, art, theology, and so on in understanding what all these works of art known as the Black Madonna bring to the table. I felt that she introduced a new idea to me that should be shared: That art is a method through which the spiritual world communicates to humanity. As I read those words I immediately thought, well surely! If God can become incarnate as a human why wouldn't God use art to communicate to us as well now? I felt this book beautifully covered Divine femininity without excluding masculinity, but instead showed how they work together. I love the focus on who and what the Black Madonnas are and how they help humanity connect more to the Divine through understanding Mary's humanity. I love how the author compares Mary as a representation of The Church, of Humanity as the Bride of Christ. Their is so much truth, beauty, and healing found within this book. I love how it ends with "Who is the Black Madonna? We, humans, are the Black Madonna." I would greatly recommend this!

Strong in science, biology, physics - then flips

to strong religious beliefs.

I give up. This book was so deep in science at the beginning that I had to take a break and go to another book. It's like it's made for medical doctors or some other type of "left-brained" academics that love to hear about research, with references. The medical, anatomical, biological, and even electronic/physics discussions are pretty specific and interesting and a great pulling together of ideas.

Four hours in, listening to heavy duty science, and finally the topic eased up to a general discussion of the human condition, with some speculation that this Earth might be hell.

By then, I was already getting caution vibes due to the way Karma had been explained. According to this author, Karma has only the one dogmatic explanation without any mention that there are other definitions possible. Alarm bell.

About six hours in, the audio book takes a sudden turn into proselytizing about God, the Creator Being, the Creator, and continuous religious commentary with, basically, a "Come to Creator" message (or possibly suffer the fate of living up to a million more lives . . . )

Slight whiff of . . . . what's that? . . . a vegan agenda? . . . not sure . . . something about the punishment people would get for killing cattle . . . and some weird thing about people becoming the animals they made suffer . . . smells of dogma for certain.

What happened?

I have just wasted how many hours on this audio book? With just a couple more to go, I am QUITTING. I am not happy. Going for a refund. Won't give me back my time.

Want to know about reincarnation? Audio books by authors Jim Tucker, Brian Weiss, Michael Newton. The greater reality? Audio books by Robert Monroe, Tom Campbell, Graham Hancock, William Buhlman, and a multitude more. Science? Rupert Sheldrake is great.

truly appalling in nearly every way

the 'science' bits were vaguely interesting but the theory of pain, ghosts etc was frankly rubbish, its not that i need to be convinced about reincarnation, i have read many interesting and enlightened books, this sadly seems to be a creationists rant total rubbish

I buy it because i thought it was a book by Abrahm Hicks the one that talks about the law Of atraction, i feel decived...

Stopped listening

The idea that a polarized world of receiving is greedy and giving is love stopped me in my tracks. The author compares one who is seeking receiving to fictional scifi villians and those seeking to give as compated to Jesus. That just perpetuates the thought that rich people are greedy. Not a truth that I can align myself with.

Very angry

I couldn't listen to more than 30 mins of this book. I found some of her descriptive terms, really upsetting. Maybe it will benefit someone else, but it wasn't for me

Brilliant

This by far the best method for supporting weight loss cant recommend this audiobook enough. Its like someone has turned the light on. Lorettas voice is amazing a double bonus.

Narration ruins it

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, the narration is too distracting.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrators voice sounds is very mechanical and sounds a bit like a computer generated voice.

The worst thing, however, is that the narrator often pauses several times during each sentence, and sometimes after a single word. This is very distracting.

The author obfuscates sound logic and reason for mind games, and verbal slights of hand. He categorically ignores, and actively avoids all evidence against the flat Earth theory. The book reads more like a religious epistemological text - with little argumentative meat, rather than as a refutation of accepted and demonstrable scientific fact. I cannot recommend this abhorrent collection of paragraphs to anyone who cannot roundly laugh at the absurd

generally a good read however the comments about yeti's really do need to be qualified by some kind of explanation. Also the predictions by Dr Peebles in the last chapter seem to be way out of line with the reality as to what is happening in the world today. As an aside all spiritual books on channeling etc seem to ignore the real danger facing the world today and that is environmental pollution eg climate change and the accumulation of plastic in the oceans. A very good nat geo docu called a warning in the waves about this very pollution and the dangers it presents to the survival of the planet is not at all presented in this book and other writings such as CWG (Walsch). Perhaps I am missing something here!!!

Dr. Peeble's concepts are so constructive and positive that one becomes awed by his logic and thus disarmed of any thoughts of challenging his presentations. Ultimately that's a pretty good place to be.

I would recommend everyone read this book. It will give each of you a totally different outlook on life. Life after death. It explains in full detail the purpose of life on earth and after death. Fascinating!
