    Publisher's Summary:
Its steamy in the Gulf town of Sea Breeze. Physical attraction is the only way to beat the heat in this start to a series from best-selling, previously self-published author Abbi Glines.
Playboy Cage owns the apartment, and he hosts a revolving door of people, in and out, at all times. Most of them are long-legged hot girls who are never there more than a night or two. When Cages new roommate, Marcus, enters the picture, hes just looking to nurse a broken heart. But theres one particular semi-frequent regular who catches his eye.
Willow - 'Low' - is the one Cage wants to marry. But the two of them are night and day, and Marcus cant see how Low puts up with all of Cages womanizing. What she really needs is a real man....like good-looking and sensible Marcus. But thats going to get real complicated and real messy - real fast.

    Surprisingly good
First, I hadn't heard of this author before; second, I do not typically like college-aged protagonists; but, I was surprised to find I liked both the author and the characters. I cannot say the author wrote a profound story, but the plot was fine, the writing competent, and the character development about right. I will try this author again.
    2.5 Disappointing Insta Love Stars
Because of Low (Sea Breeze #2) by Abbi Glines Reviewed by Cmsande
Overall Rating: 2.5 Disappointing Insta Love Stars Narrator Rating: 4 Stars
Heat Level: 1.5 very low heat stars. Recommend for 13+. There is some sex scenes in the book but very few. Little to no tension, flirting or sexy build-up.
Type of Book Genre: #Romance #New Adult #Contemporary Romance
POV: Dual POV done by the two main characters (H) Marcus Hardy and (h) Willow Low Fosters
I will start by saying that I enjoy reading books by Abbi Glines and some of my favorites are the Rosemary Beach series and the Existence Trilogy. However I did not like this book. I was excited to finally get time to read this book because I liked Markus in the first Sea Breeze book Breathe. The Idea for the story was great but the execution was lame. The conflicts were either childish, trite or just over the top. I hate to say this because I know authors work very hard and I appreciate all they give but this book felt thrown together on the fly.
Willows character comes off as childish, selfish and just plain dumb at times. She does absolutely nothing but complain and does nothing to fix her situations! And can I just say hoping that her sister will become a better mom if she doesn't have to work is the dumbest statement I've heard in a while! Lows using Cage and leading him on was just sad (yes I know she told him repeatedly through the entire book that she wouldn't marry him but actions speak louder than words, so don't crawl in his bed every other night!) I really liked Markus in Breathe but he comes across as an asshole in this book. I absolutely loathe his reaction in the end! Very few redeeming qualities between our main characters, I feel cheated! The interactions between Marcus and Willow seem awkward and felt unnatural. Most of the time there inner monologue where boring, meaningless drivel! There was no real attraction between them or no sexual tension, just embarrassingly cringe worthy sex scenes! The ending was choppy with no real resolutions to the problems.

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 13 hrs and 56 mins

    Publisher's Summary:
The second book in the Sinners on Tour series features lead singer Sedric Lionheart, who became a playboy after his fiancee, Jessica, broke his heart. Trapped on a summer tour together for two entire months - but stubbornly desperate to stay apart - they find a million steamy reasons why they had that lovin' feeling in the first place.
    Critic Reviews:
"[Fans] will love the characters and enjoy their scorching love scenes and passionate fights." (
    Romantic Times)
    Members Reviews:
Good, but not as good as the first book...
I really loved Sedric as a secondary character in the first book of this series and couldn't wait to read his story in this book. OC has a way of making these characters come to life that is entertaining and flat-out sexy! I love a hot book just as much as the next person but there were almost too many sex scenes in this one with overblown (no pun intended) descriptions. My only criticism for OC is that she learn to liberally sprinkle the book with hot scenes rather than saturate it. But the narrator is FANTASTIC!
One Of The BEST ROMANCE SERIES
If you could sum up Rock Hard in three words, what would they be?
    Entertaining, SEXY, Romantic
What does Justine O. Keef bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
    LOVE her guy voices
    Any additional comments?
This series is in my top 5.... There is everything from funny moments, to HOT HOT sex... I cant stand it when a book goes too much into feelings and emotions of the characters, and these books give just enough.... Cant wait for the next one.
Sex drugs & rock n roll but oh soooo much more
If you've listened to book 1 then you know what's contained within these Sinners on Tour books about the members of a rock band. There's fellowship, romance, hot n heavy sexy love scenes, interesting likeable characters, humour, passion and well written heart wrenching plots that are each an addictive listen.
This one is about heartthrob lead singer Sed who stumbles across his ex fiancee and true love Jessica who's working as an erotic dancer in a Club in Las Vegas and the result are explosive. Sed, a tortured, damaged but very likeable and drool-worthy character (by us girlies anyway) wants to change and is determined to win her back so tries everything (all say ahhhhh) but Jessica had her heart broken by him so has other plans. I tried but failed to like her character in the beginning and, as a result, I just couldn't empathize with her (but stick with her) as I eventually warmed to her much later in the story.
I love romance books and feel sex scenes can easily have their places within them but I did find there was a bit of over-indulgence and gratuitous scenes which became just plain boring.
Worth a credit? Yes absolutely and I'm counting the days until book 3 Double Time (which is Trey's turn for love) is added to Audible and then Hot Ticket (Eric's story) which is released in February.
    Great book
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Sedric, he is the ideal rock star, that we can all fall for.
    Which scene was your favorite?
The Golden Gate Bridge scene, dreams, dreams, dreams.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Love, Sex and Rock 'n Roll
YES!!!!! ROCK BAND LOVE TAKE 2!!!!
Yes!!! So good. SO this is book two of SINNNNNNERSSS!!!!!! The story of Sed, the lead singer and his woman Jessica. So good.

Suspended until he gets his act together, bull rider Chase McKay has sworn off women. Forever. Or at least a month. Whichever comes first.
Actress Ava Cooper became a tabloid target when her boyfriend was outed as gay. When she goes into hiding in an abandoned trailer, though, she finds it occupied by the kind of red-blooded cowboy she needs to prove shes got the goods between the sheets.
The two headstrong stars quickly end up riding a hot and heady rodeo circuit all their own - until the press gets wind. Is it the real dealor just another publicity stunt?

    Didn't Finish
Would you try another book from Lorelei James and/or Vanessa Caine?
yes,I love Lorelei's books, I love Scarlet as the narrator on the earlier audio books, I just couldn't get in to Vanessa Caine voice. She makes the male voice sound to immature, and I just think a rough rider should sound a little rough.
BOOK 11 - WHERE'S THE REST WE WANT & NEED THEM
My fellow reviewers have pretty much said it all about this book - it's passionate, romantic, 2 likeable main characters who are facing similar challenges in their successful careers are accidentally but happily thrown together. Trouble is he's sworn off sex and she's looking for some so can she wait or will he give in.
Not as hot as some of her other books but still an adult only listen and very enjoyable.
Worth a credit? I have found all her books to be very creditworthy but come on Audible we want more L.J. to add to our libraries please.
A SOLID STORY, BUT, WHAT'S UP WITH THE NARRATOR?
Changing narrators 10 books into a series is jarring to say the least. Initially I thought I might skip this one entirely, but, a chapter or two in, LJ's great writing and the hot and heavy romance won out! Chasin' eight was funny and sassy, definitely another winner in the Rough Riders series.
Still waiting for books 1 thru 10
Great book BUT would be even greater if audible would get the rest of the series.
Hot cowboy + sexy actress = steaming story!
Ever had Audible suggest something for you, where you stop, blink, and wonder if there's a glitch? The computer must have a virus or something? Because that suggestion is *nothing* like what you normally listen to? Well that's what I thought when "Chasin' Eight" came up as something I would like. I mean - cowboys? Bullriders? I like Earls and Dukes and sometimes Demons or Vampires. Not Cowboys.
It turns out Audible was very very right. After half an hour I was not only hooked but utterly converted - full on Western lover. "Hoooooo yeah. Bullriders!" Chase McKay is one HOT professional bullrider who is used to getting everything he wants. The story opens with him in an explicit threesome that doesn't exactly go his way. Suddenly he doesn't get sex all day everyday with the always willing "buckle bunnies" on the rodeo circuit, now he has to lie low and keep scandal free.
Ava Cooper is an LA actress whose series has been dropped, who is being stalked by the paparazzi, and who lost her confidence the moment she discovered her boyfriend came out to the world before he did to her.
Chase organises to hide out in his ranching cousin's old trailer to avoid the temptation of sex.

    Members Reviews:
    Couldn't finish it...
I tried to finish this book but after two weeks I gave up. The premise is good: best friends that decide to marry so that he can keep his ranch (as required by his deceased grandfather). But the constant mentioning of his barbwire tattoo, the changing points of view between the main characters and the so so narration finally bored me. I don't recommend it.
Carolyn Brown Knocks it over the Fence Again
This book will be one of my all-time favorites. Ms. Brown's characterization skills are spot on!

Alex Nolan is as bitter and cynical as they come. One of three Nolan brothers who call Friday Harbor home, hes nothing like Sam or Mark. They actually believe in love; they think the risk of pain is worth the chance of happiness. But Alex battles his demons with the help of a whiskey bottle, and he lives in his own private hell. And then a ghost shows up. Only Alex can see him. Has Alex finally crossed over the threshold to insanity?
Zoë Hoffman is as gentle and romantic as they come. When she meets the startlingly gorgeous Alex Nolan, all her instincts tell her to run. Even Alex tells her to run. Wrong Narrator
Read this excellent book. The audio narrator is miscast.
I have no idea what goes into casting decisions but I can't imagine who thought Jeff Cummings, who has not narrated a ROMANCE before, was the right choice for a major new release in ROMANCE. He voices the HEROINE in the dreaded drag queen, breathy, I'm-so-blonde-and-dumb-as-mud-but-I'm-perky style that causes romance readers to grind their teeth. Please. As if that weren't bad enough, the ghost (a major character with a lot of lines) sounds whiney and annoying -- far from how the character is written. His hero voice is nothing to write home about either -- gruffer and ruder than he's written.
Producer? Director? Why didn't somebody clue him in?
There are so many talented narrators, both male and female, who could have hit a home run with this highly anticipated book. Narrators who GET romance. Mr Cummings buffoonish performance pretty much convinced me that he has a low opinion of romance and its readers. I don't think he liked what he was reading -- and it shows.
Average story, wrong choice of narrator
I love Lisa Kleypas as a historical romance author but she still has to convince me as far as contemporary romance. Dream Lake isn't a bad book, but it just wasn't more than average. Surprisingly, my favorite storyline was that of the ghost - I'm generally not a big fan or the paranormal as a plot device and was afraid the ghost was going to be annoying and too much of a stretch. His story line was actually the most poignant and he elicited quite a few laughs from me during his scenes with Alex.
The narrator, though, is a different story. My main problem is that it's a man. It was jarring and distracting to have a man narrating a sweet romance novel - stick with women for this genre, please! He also gave the heroine, Zoe, a weird, detached voice that was quite irritating at times. He did a decent job with Zoe's grandma's voice though.
All in all, a pretty average and forgettable listen.

    Publisher's Summary:
Miranda Lees enticing romance novels raise temperatures with each and every steamy offering. In this sultry tale, Nicolas Dupre has left Rocky Creek, the Australian bush town of his past, far behind him. But he cant shake the memory of Serina, nor of the night they reached the very peak of carnal delight. So when he receives a request to return to Rocky Creek, Serina is at the forefront of his thoughts. Little does Nicolas know that a secret awaits - one that will change his life forever.
    Members Reviews:
    Good Title, Horrible Book!
This was almost the worst book I have ever read. What a selfish mom. The so called heroine (SERINA) did nothing but lie to everyone through almost the whole book, then force Nicolas to lie about being their daughters biological father.
Miranda called herself trying to write Serina as a strong character, but infact she was mean, deceiving, and a liar who when she was in the wrong, placed herself as the victim.
What a senseless book and a nonsensical heroine.
Nicholas was a forgiving and loving man who should have been strong enough to tell the truth and demand to be part of his daughters life without trying to cover for the lies the girls mother told, but essentially he was too weak and serina whiped!
I wish I had never wasted my time and life reading this twisted ridiculous book.
What's sad is at the end, Serina finally told her daughter the truth, and somehow talked her daughter into keeping the secret of who her biological father is. The little girl even writes her father a letter calling herself, his secret daughter. How does a 12 year old keep a secret that large, and who would expect their child to.
This Book is about weak minded liars who put what others think, and their own lust before doing what's right.
    THUMBS DOWN!
    enjoyable
A Night, A Secret.....A Child is the 18th stand-alone romance novel by Australian author, Miranda Lee. Serina Harmon has kept a guilty secret for thirteen years: just before her wedding to Greg Harmon, a night of passion with Nicolas Dupre, the man who broke her heart at eighteen, had produced a daughter, Felicity. Now Greg is dead and Felicity has invited Nicolas, former world-class concert pianist and theatrical entrepreneur, to judge a fund-raising concert, and he's coming to Rocky Creek! Nicolas is determined to experience again the unequalled passion he once had with Serina. Lee has set this romance where she grew up, which will no doubt appeal to locals. Characters and dialogue are credible; it's just a pity that whoever chose the cover photo obviously did not read the novel as the Nicolas is meant to be blond with an amputated left thumb, while the guy on the cover clearly still has his left thumb!! Enjoyable.
    Not Miranda Lee's best!
I am usually a big fan of Miranda Lee's titles, but this book was awful. Serina was selfish and a coward who didn't want her daughter to know her real father and vice versa. She lied to her family and her late husband's family about her daughter's true parentage, telling everyone it was her late husband's child. It was pretty easy to tell that Nicolas still loved her after all those years. She should be thankful he was such a forgiving person.

    Good
A good book, although I had to get used to the voice and pace of the narrator. She talks a bit too fast for me. The story is good and entertaining. I can recommend it.
    Waters Run Deep
If you could sum up Deep Waters in three words, what would they be?
    Watery love story
Who was your favorite character and why?
When they say animals and babies steal the show, it is the truth the bird was an added character in this story that surprised you at the end.
Have you listened to any of Stephanie Diazs other performances before? How does this one compare?
No this is my first and I did not think she did a bad job
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I thought it was funny in some parts while it made you think of the important things in life in other parts of the book
    They got it wrong
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
    no
Who was your favorite character and why?
    The parot
What didnt you like about Stephanie Diazs performance?
From the beginning of the book it constantly describes Isic's voice as very deep but the reader could not achieve anything like a deep voice. The character Isic's voice ended up sounding like a wimpy 13 year old boy. They got it wrong for this book it should have been read by a man. Most of the main characters were men.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    no film

    Wonderfully sweet story.
What did you love best about The Forgetful Bride?
Debbie presents an adorable love story without any foul language and with just a hint of sex.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Joe is my favorite - him and his patience.

Probably a good book for adolescents.
What could Debbie Macomber have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Have loved some of Macomber's books but found this one tedious.
How could the performance have been better?
Looking for something with a more entertaining and less predictable plot.
    Another Light Feel Good Book
I enjoyed this book very much. The interaction between Cait and Joe was frustrating at times, but quite unique and fun. I listened to it twice so that tells me that I really like the book. Very good relationship book.
    Horrible narrator
What did you like best about The Forgetful Bride? What did you like least?
I liked the book and thought it would be ever better on audiobook. The problem is the narrator who is impossible to listen to. She was so bad I couldn't even get through 20 minutes of the book before I couldn't take it anymore. What a waste!

The story was wonderful. I went to the store and actually bought the book for a really good read. Only got a chapter into the audible version, and could NOT get passed the narration. Please no more MacLeod Andrews!

    Publisher's Summary:
In the India of 1942, two rapes take place simultaneously - that of an English girl in Mayapore, and that of India by the British. In each, physical violence, racial animosity, the coercion of the weak by the strong all play their part, but playing a part too are love, affection, loyalty, and recognition that the last division of all to be overcome is the colour of the skin. The whole spectrum of Anglo-Indian relations is vividly evoked in a brilliant assessment of emotions, personal clashes and historical reasons that eventually prised India - the jewel in the Imperial Crown - from its setting.
    Critic Reviews:
"It takes a masterful reader to captivate listeners for 21 hours. Sam Dastor, winner of numerous Earphones awards, does it again. His elegant interpretation makes Scott's prose seem even more eloquent than it is. Even more impressive is his brilliant dramatization of individual characters... Sam Dastor should get a jewel for his crown!" (AudioFile)

    Great Audio Book!
This is an engrossing story and the narrator gives a fantasic performance, with a different voice for each character. I wish he did the rest of the series but this seems to be the only volume available with him. Well worth listening to.

Would you listen to The Jewel in the Crown again? Why?
I would listen to this again as it seems so rich in human experience that I expect to find more in it every time I read it.
What other book might you compare The Jewel in the Crown to and why?
It's often compared to A Passage To India, but Paul Scott's knowledge and interest in both India and the Raj clearly dwarfs Forster's. Forster's book is largely satire (and written long before the tragedies Scott describes), whereas Scott's much longer work feels populated with real people in serious situations.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh and cry, in equal measure.
    Any additional comments?
Sam Dastor was born to narrate this book -- his astonishing mastery of a wide range of British and Indian accents, as well as characters, is unparallelled in my experience. Please somebody persuade him to perform the last three books in the series. I cannot imagine anyone else ever coming up to his standard.
    An achievement by any standard
Broad and deep with great vision, empathy, and intellect. A cut far above comparable novels in every sense. Skillfully read.
    Terrific narrator and great novel
If you have ever wanted to read the Raj Quartet, The Jewel in the Crown narrated by Sam Dastor couldn't be better. His rendition of the characters' voices as well as their accents is so good that much of the time I forgot that this was the same narrator doing all the different voices. Now that I have listened to the first book in the Quartet, I plan to read the other three. My preference would have been to listen to the rest of the quartet as audiobooks, but unfortunately the samples of Richard Brown reading have convinced me that I would not like his narration at all. Oh, to have the rest of the Quartet read by Sam Dastor! Audible, are you listening?
    Outstanding
    Any additional comments?
An outstanding performance of a complex, multicultural, layered novel. Hoping Sam Dastor will record the rest of the quartet.
