Informative Session with a Thoughtful Funny Author

I learned a lot about the audiobook industry. I had no idea how popular it is. Luke Smitherd sounds just like the "Afterwords" of his books--funny, honest, and self-deprecating, but I think Andrew Lincoln/David Morrissey are long-shots.

Interesting interview, particularly the insights as to writing and publishing, and more specifically the platform of audio books... There is no story to speak of, and the performance has you viewing the writer as a shamelessly desperate self promoter Sorry, couldn't resist That being said, the interviewee does seem like a decently upright human being...

Luke smitherd is a great writer and seems like a good guy. I've enjoyed every one of his books, and I look forward to the next one.

Just listened to my first Smithered book

And really enjoyed it so have this a go.

Comes across as a top bloke, interesting to hear his views on self publication etc.

As it's a free interview expect plugs for books and audible/Amazon but it's great the writers are accessible.

Always good to hear the author

I enjoyed the hatching so looked for one of these audible sessions with the author.

His interviewer raved about the sequel, the skittering, and as such I used a credit on it... I have left a review there for the second book of the trilogy which while not a failure doesn't live up to its predecessor or the interviewer's reaction, and is a bridging gap for the finale unfortunately.

Love the extra insight from Andy. I've enjoyed his books and this was an enjoyable listen.

A quick and insightful inteoduction

The elusive Andy Mcnab in the dark & in person. Giving a brief introduction and a account of his rise to fame as a award winning author.

Sharing a little of his youth and how he came to be in the army, what drove him to sign-up and how he a opportunity to write about his time in the army presented itself at a fork road at the end of his prestigious army career.

Compelling chpt1 and wanting more. Real personality and passion as always.

A must listen for any Andy Mcnab fan.

After listening to this interview I cannot help but feel Andy should have narrated all of his own audio books especially with that south east london accent, I feel it always adds more realism when the author is telling the story. The good pychopaths guide to success and Seven Troop are both good examples

That said Paul Thornleys narration certainly does not disappoint, he also delivers the audio and story very well.

The interviewer is very inexperienced. This shows in her style, and in her not very illuminating questions. I would like to hear Foer interviewed by someone who could stimulate a good discussion.
