Sent off the legendary island as a baby for his own safety, Trey is the only living heir to the Atlantean throne. Whether he likes it or not, Trey has to go back to his birthplace and accept his role as the Ruling Prince and lead the revolution to defeat the Knights of the Abyss. Good Reading
Atlantis exists. Trey, a member of his high school swimming team, is transported to Atlantis where he discovers he is the ruling Prince. The reason for this is the whole royal family have been slaughtered by the Knights of the Abyss and Aerian the sorceress has sent the call for Trey to assume his true heritage.
Along the road to recovering the kingdom from the Knights, Trey finds out many things about the island of Atlantis and his own beginnings. For instance he is adopted and his Grandfather is a sorcerer. Good idea and the start of what might be a good series.
The concept of this book intrigued me but I have to admit to being disappointed with the presentation. The formatting did not adjust to various ebook readers, I tried two or three different ones, and there were hyphens in words that did not belong in the middle of lines of text. I also found the story to be disjointed and at times the author appeared to be offering me a science lesson. In other words he told me what happened rather than showing me by actions and memories. All these anomalies interrupted the flow of reading the story.
I would suggest with a good edit, this could be a wonderful book and series. Too often Atlantis is portrayed as a sunken world of affluence and goodness. This book shows a different side to Atlantis which is well worth investigating.

Summary: The Knights of the Abyss wage war on Atlantis. Sixteen year old Trey Atlas is the only one that can stop them from destroying all that Atlantis stands for and, as a result, erasing his own mysterious past.
Atlantis exists. Of course, you don't know this because it's hidden from our world. Eleven thousand years ago, the Greeks and Egyptians attacked Atlantis. In order to protect the island, Aruc, a sorcerer, created an illusion of the island sinking and then put a barrier in place to prevent outsiders from seeing or gaining access to Atlantis. But Aruc knew that the isolated island was not safe forever. In fact, he cast the very prophecy that predicted the bleak future of the island. His prophecy became known as Profiteia ek Espanastasi.
From Blood of Evil and Blood of True
A Boy is Born and this Prophecy Due
For When the Abyss Rises to Make It's Mark
The Saviour is the Boy wit Royal Blood Half Dark
The sorcerer then designed a plan that would ensure the survival of the island he loved. For thousands of years, Atlantis continued in Peace and prosperity with no need for the plan.
Sixteen years ago, the Prince foreseen in Aruc's prophecy was born.

Zoey Trask is at the end of her rope. Her mother was murdered in a random mugging a year ago. Her younger brother, Ben, is on the autistic spectrum and needs constant supervision. It's senior year, and she'sthe new girl at a weird private school in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, full of kids who seem too nice to be true - including a very cute boy named Pete. Her martial arts and survivalist-obsessed father insisted on teaching her everything he knows which is just great for her social life.

Ben seems to hold the key to their father's disappearance in his Dream Diary: a bizarre journal of names and places Ben claims their mother shares from beyond the grave. And as if she doesn't have enough on her plate, there's Pete, who stubbornly refuses to leave her side.
Relying on the skills her father taught her - he might have had his reasons after all - Zoey is plunged into a lethal battle to protect her brother, rescue her father, and determine the true meaning of the Dream Diary.

    Moves very quickly
In Arin Greenwoodâs first YA novel, SAVE THE ENEMY, Zoey and her family have recently moved to Alexandria, Virginia. She is in her senior year at a private school in Old Town Alexandria. Her mother was killed in what appeared to be a random mugging. Her father is occasionally away for days at a time, leaving her in charge of herself and her younger brother Ben, who happens to be in the Aspergerâs/autistic spectrum.
The youngstersâ father is kidnapped. A note says that Zoey must produce a âJ Fileâ to get her father back, but she has no idea what this âJ Fileâ is, much less where to find it. Because of the kidnapping, Ben becomes more difficult to manage. Someone is leaving cigarette butts in the toilet at Zoeyâs home, and no one there smokes. Zoey has no idea which of several young men her age truly want to help her or mean her harm. She ends up putting to use the self-defense/survival skills her father insisted she learn.
Zoey and Ben impress me as well-executed characters. Zoey is strong -- tough when she has to be. Ben, as I understand many Asperger's people to be, focuses strongly on one interest -- at this time, economics -- and is very demanding about his clothing and his daily routine.
This novel is medium-short, fast, and pow! It moves very quickly, and readers want to keep going to see what happens next. But beware of trying to read this one too quickly, or youâll get lost.
    really loved it
This book grabbed my attention the instant I read the synopsis. I was very excited to get a copy of the audio. I love audio and this was the perfect book to listen for audio. The story was suspenseful, well put together, and very exciting. I was caught up on the action from start to finish. It was everything I thought it would be.
Zoey and her younger brother, Ben, live with their father just trying to make it through the every day steps of life since their mother was killed. Zoey comes home one day to find her brother waiting on the front porch, a cigarette butt in the toilet, and her father missing. All very strange things, especially when added up together. Ben is autistic and shouldn't be left alone and no on in the house smokes.

    WHAT FUN!!
I read Tom Kirkbride's GAMADIN Word of Honor and was so impressed with this new series that I purchased copies for my grandkids, nieces and nephews, and some special kids around the neighborhood. The 'old fashioned' values of the lead characters was a refreshing change from todays normal media. The recipients of the gifts are all just as hooked on the series as I am - the adventure is non-stop! Adult or young teen, this is exciting and fun for all ages. Imagine being given these very cool weapons, an awesome vehicle, and the responsibility of saving the galaxy and all that is RIGHT in our world! I had a blast reading this and am anxiously awaiting the next book, to read more about the adventures of Harlowe and Riverside. It's so nice when the good guys win for a change!
    Gamadin: Word of Honor
I'm a little late writing this review. I finished this book and believe me I staid up late at the kitchen table reading it, I didn't review it. I had to pick up book number two the next one in this series. I have never been a really big fan of sci-fi books. This one blew me away. The on earth part brought back wild memories since I grew up where our heroes are. This is a book that is an easy read and captures your mind to what could be and what is. I have read this book twice to continue with all the books (on my Kindle). It was as good the first time or even better. I even got caught up in the book. I'm even talking like Harlow, Matt and Wiz. I'm on book three now. I got it as soon as it came out. I had to know what happens. The only bad thing I can come up with is he says he has two more coming out, WHAT? I was thinking closure. Heroe says the day! More you say? Hurry up I need my Gamadin fix. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading.
    A very enjoyable book
Saw the "Gamadin van" at a local eatery and looked up the web site. I read most anything, but love sci-fi and paranormal. I messaged the author and discovered he had recently moved into my town; I felt obligated to buy the e-book and read it so if we ever met...
No regrets. There are some minor continuity issues with the story, some "blanks I would have rather seen filled. but I enjoyed the characters and the story very much.

    Brilliant!
The world building and imagination that went into the creation of this book is astounding. The author creates a whole new planet with two alien races and a whole host of colourful characters! There are alien foods, alien sports, alien foliage, alien customs and even an alien religion. The aliens believe in the Great Creator who, instead of living in the sky, lives in the Lapis Sea. They call their creator 'Concentric' which was quite funny because instead of saying 'Oh God' they say 'Concentric help us!' and invoke Concentric when in distress, how we would with God. It was fascinating to read and I loved the world the author created. I especially loved the 'poonchi' which is similar to a dog but shaped like a bowling ball with spikes. It sounds adorable and I want one. I also really loved a food they had- a kind of berry which taste nice or horrible depending on your mood. I thought that was very Harry Potter-esque and something you would get from Honeydukes!
The way the author writes about time travel and travelling through space is really original and not cliche, and is very unearthly and unusual! It is rare to find a new way of describing time travel as it has already been written about so much before, so I thought that was really interesting. I also loved the concept of 'particle weaving' which is being able to move particles into new shapes using your mind. I would love to have that power, and have always wanted something along those lines since I read 'Matilda' as a child! I think Green Lantern also does something similar so maybe he comes from Circanthos too!
I loved the main characters. McKenzie is really likeable; even more so because she is quite flawed, especially at the beginning, and matures throughout the novel. She starts off very independent, feisty, obnoxious and bossy and she becomes a lot more soft, vulnerable and more of a team player. Her strange mixture of looks also make her stand out; she is Chinese with bright red hair and emerald eyes. The boy she travels with, Rudy Hayes, is quite adorable. His lop-sided grin and cheeky banter with McKenzie made him a believable love interest and their flirtation is very cute and not over the top.

    Awsome!
I have literally read every book Caroline B. Cooney has written and for some reason I put off reading this book. I am not the soap opera type and thought there was no way I would like the book. Boy was I wrong! I finally decided to read it and fell in love with this book! It is really an amazing story. The emotion throughout the whole story is so intense you feel like your in the book! The characters give off a quality that you are still laughing and thinking about weeks later. I found myself taking quotes from the book and using them in conversations. I told every one of my friends to read it and loaned it to everyone I know. This is a really great book!
    I love this book!
What a purely delightful read this book is! "Tune In Anytime" is set up like a soap opera with each new episode a continuation of the lives of the Olivette and Larkman families. A family drama, the book is quite the deviation for Caroline B. Cooney, a suspense genre writer.
Poor Sophie Olivette is the still point amidst the self-centered members of her family: Daniel, 49, who plans to divorce his mate, then remarry a young model; Edith, the old wife, a long-time self-seeker; Marley, older daughter, feisty college student; and Sophie, a sensible high school student longing for her family to remain intact.
At the beginning of each chapter an italicized script introduces a typical soap opera plot, then adapts it to the Olivette family. The chapter follows the thread but in most unusual ways. First, the writing is pure magic. I will reread this book just to recapture the lovely enchantment of Cooney's words. Second, the characters never react to events in expected ways. There is an aura of mystery and other worldliness to them. Could it be caused by the stone circle on the Larkman property, where Edith plans a solstice party to precede the New Year's Eve wedding of her soon-to-be ex-husband. There's a bulldozer involved.
One of the best parts of the book is the slowly evolving romance between Sophie Olivette and Ted Larkman, high school student and third-generation gravel pit operator. His parents are doubly involved: in the plot and in the magic. Sound confusing? The novel is open-ended, but how the relationship turns out is as obvious as fairy dust.
Think of the best of Woody Allen, then you have a sense of the strange evolving in this modern day fairy tale. Very highly recommended!

It was as I was walking into the drama class that I remembered the girl I had bumped into and the green sweater just like mine. That was what had got Mrs. Watt mixed up. She had seen the girl in the green sweater and thought it was me. That was the simple explanation. Wasn't it? Fay can't help thinking it odd that people start remarking on conversations she knows she hasn't had, or saying they have seen her when she knows she was somewhere else. But then she starts hearing muffled footsteps behind her, the flash of fair hair just like hers around the corner. Is she imagining things? Another Me is a gripping, spooky thriller from the acclaimed story-teller Cathy MacPhail.

Good book for teens, with an uncertain ending
This book is a quick read for most adults, and a fine book for teens. I'm not sure it's suitable for middle grade students, not the early middle graders, anyway. Some of the elements in this are fairly mature.
It's well written from a first-person viewpoint. The dialogue rings fairly true for the age of the characters. American readers may need to learn a few British terms, but they can figure most of it from the context.
The paranormal aspects are well written. Fay, the protagonist, doesn't like scary stories and she doesn't believe in ghosts. However, by the end of the first chapter, she's already had a brush with something very creepy. It'll take her awhile to realize it, and the horror builds gradually, with lots of room for doubts. Several scenes can be interpreted multiple ways.
The mixed interpretations continue all the way to the end of the book. I don't think I'll spoil anything by saying that no two people are likely to agree on what really happens at the end... and which clues point to which outcome.
This is a book you'll read more than once, just to see if you "got it right." (The fact is, the lines between reality and the ghost world continue to blur near the end of the book, no matter how many times you read it. That's what makes it fun.)
I think this book is best for young teens who like creepy, gothic stories and "what if" tales of the paranormal. Adults who want a quick, quirky read may enjoy it as much as I did, too.
The film and book differ from one another.
I watched the film adaptation of Another Me before I learned about the book. I expected there to be little to no difference between the book and film, but there were actually quite a few major changes made to the film, and so I feel I was just as engaged as I might have been if I had not seen the film first.
What I appreciate about her kind of horror is how inconspicuous it is for the most part. She takes seemingly minor details and makes you question whether or not they are mere coincidences, because realistically they very well could be.
Cathy MacPhail has stated that there is a hint given somewhere in the book that reveals the answer to the question you are most likely left with at the ending. It is not apparent to me exactly what the hint was, though I have a few guesses. Personally, I prefer that she didn't explicitly give anything away.
    Worth Checking Out
This I liked. Spooky in a fun way. Nice ending too.

    Female werewolves
Why I read this: The cover was eye catching and it was about werewolves.. need I say more? :)
Plot: Claire starts to have some weird changes on her 16th birthday. She's getting rashes and having all sorts of weird cravings... and her mom drops the bomb - they're both werewolves. Unfortunately, her new crush has a father who is trying to find the cure for werewolves and will stop at nothing to try and capture the lone werewolf who has been murdering humans near where Claire lives.
I like the idea of only women being werewolves - as we often see the opposite. The plot moved forward and there's a bit of mystery as to which werewolf is the one who is going around murdering these people. There's glimpses into the werewolf as she goes to slaughter the next person and that really set the mood of the book into a darker tone - which I really liked.
Characters: Claire doesn't really react well to being a werewolf. She hates the thought that people would think badly of her if they found out her secret. Claire starts to experiment behind her mother's back and also refuses to stop seeing Matthew. She consistently sneaks out when her mother is not around and tries to hone her changing to and from werewolf form. I really liked Claire - she seemed very much the modern teenager who wasn't used to her mother being around and from that she really showed some independent thought and action.
Matthew is not drool worthy, but he's a nice guy - cute and fun for Claire to be with. He can almost distract her from all of her problems when she's with him.
Claire's mother is very aloof, as are a lot of the werewolves - but they survive on instinct and are not reliant on human relationships. Thus the lack of a father figure in Claire's life.
Relatability: I definitely cannot see much of me in Claire, but I do know a lot of teenagers like her. She's very realistic and I appreciated that.
Cover commentary: Love it. It's so pretty. Definitely one I want on my shelf.
Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson
This is one of those books that, for me, set the tone from the very beginning. In the prologue as a reader you already have questions swimming through your head and you are hooked because you have to know who is doing these things. We are seeing through the eyes of the rogue wolf in the prologue and it gets the story off to a running start. The story for the most part revolves around Clarie, but every now and then we get a peak into the mind of the rogue wolf and those brief glimpses for me are very intriguing.
