A Bit Disapointed Actually!

I had just bought my first Kindle so that I could order one book, (How To Rank In Google Post Panda by James Green) fell in love with that book AND the Kindle. :) So, the natural thing for me was to go out and find another great read up my alley of entrepreneurialism. This just wasn't it.

The reviews on it were great, and I can't say it was a "bad read"....it just lacked the depth I found in the first book that made me want more. Anthony covers a great business plan, more of a walk you through from start to finish approach. From having a positive and determined attitude, to outsourcing much of your tasks in an attempt to manage your time. My problem was simply that it was "too basic." I guess I would assume these things would really be more common sense for most business minded people, what I would have liked to see much more of is details on how to drive customers to your business.

Again, if your knowledge is limited....or maybe you just need that confidence boost, you may well find this book to be the Golden Key to your success. If you are more like me and have websites already, are familiar with basic SEO strategies, and know you will not "give up." The value you get from this will probably be 3 stars at best, but check out the book mentioned previously here, THAT ROCKS! :)

Must Read for Anyone Starting or Owning a Business

I read this book from start to finish in just a few hours. I could not put it down. It tells you EVERYTHING you need to know to get your business up and running, but more importantly, how to do it successfully. He doesn't gloss over anything. He tells it like it is so that you know ahead of time what you're getting yourself into.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone even thinking of working for themselves. There are so many details that are included in this book that are absolutely essential to know. In all the business courses and books I've read on entrepreneurship I have never received the kind of information included here.

For people already in business, reading this book can only lead to more success. There is so much to advertising and marketing these days using the internet, and so many sharks out there willing to take your money without a prayer of getting you results, that you must EDUCATE YOURSELF. For the cost of this book it's the best investment you can make to ensure the success of any enterprise.

Actually very helpful.

My husband and I decided to start an online vaporizer business with very little experience on utilizing online marketing tools. This book was actually very helpful. The beginning part of the book was effective in motivating and inspiring me to move forward with the business and to strive to succeed. Khoury does a great job establishing his credibility by writing in simple English and laying the foundation for his success. He literally started his first business with no experience.

Disappointing

The book needs an editor to clean up the typos or marginal English. It is very vague and seems more like notes the author kept for himself while learning about Lean. The stories at the back are more interesting but don't do a very good job of relating back to the material (perhaps because there isn't a lot that is specific to relate back to). All in all, I didn't get much out of the book. There are other books, like Building High Performance Government Through Lean Six Sigma, that offer better practical application.

Nothing new in this book

This book is pure plagiarism. Chapter 1: directly from the Connecticut Department of Labor website. Chapter 2: directly form Ken Miller in an article published online on May 21, 2007... chapter 10, verbatim from an article published on isixsigma.com by Chew Jian Chieh. Chapter 14 directly from Lean.org. No bibliography, not quotations, no mention of the real authors. Everything in this book was published online by someone else... Disappointing and not very honest.

Succinct and to the point

Paul Godfrey does a very good job in explaining that capital formation, while key to create wealth, is only a part of getting out of poverty. Economic self-reliance, pro-activeness, awareness, and capacity to formulate plans are also fundamental aspects in developing a strong policy. While governments can do a lot, the ultimate responsibility lies within the family, which is why it should be supported and nurtured. Unleashing trapped resources within family structures is the ultimate source of capital. Paul Godfrey's book is a welcome addition to the current debate on poverty. Martin Burt

An excellent book on eliminating poverty

This is a very well-written and thoughtful book. Other researchers have addressed topics such as human capital, social capital, and of course physical capital with respect to economic development. Professor Paul Godfrey has put these topics together and added to previous models by including institutional capital and organizational capital. These additions create an innovative framework that really extends theory and support for the role of the various types of capital in eliminating poverty.

the advice given is the same knowledge you would gain on your first visit ever...the author is clearly a virgin and knows zero about the strip club industry. if some one ran a business on this model they would go broke...strip clubs are shady and sell shady services to stay in business if not they go belly up...save your money unless you don't mind burning three bucks to listen to this virgin express his novice knowledge on the subject matter.

Really cool book for any and every entrepreneur

this book was a great book at identifying all the ways a strip club brings in money. It was kind of cool to learn about all the stuff that goes on beyond the scenes in order for a strip club to be successful.

Garbage

What disappointed you about How a Strip Club Works?

This book has no place on Audible; not because of its nature, but because it has virtually no information that is not already common knowledge. Complete waste of 18 minutes of my life and $3.
