    Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10
    Publisher's Summary:
Best-selling author James Patterson's best book for boys in years! Tired of being bullied, middle school underdogs "Pottymouth" and "Stoopid" finally fight back with the power of funny.
David and his best friend, Michael, were tagged with awful nicknames way back in preschool, when everyone did silly things. Fast-forward to seventh grade: "Pottymouth" and "Stoopid" are still stuck with the names - and everyone in school, including the teachers and their principal, believe the labels are true.
So how do they go about changing everyone's minds? By turning their misery into megastardom on TV, of course! And this important story delivers more than just laughs - it shows that the worst bullying doesn't have to be physical...and that things will get better. A great conversation starter for parents to listen to alongside their kids!
    Official notice to parents:
There is no actual pottymouthing or stupidity in this entire book!
(Psst, kids: That second part might not be entirely true.)
    Critic Reviews:
"Pottymouth and Stoopid take on bullies and tough times with friendship and the power of funny!" (Eric Kahn Gale, author of The Bully Book)
"Readers will be amused by Pottymouth and Stoopid's shenanigans.... Entertaining." (Kirkus)
"A deeply satisfying twist that turns two seventh-graders haunted by nicknames bestowed in preschool into culture heroes. Readers will applaud as the two best buds find themselves at the head of a veritable army of geeks and brains with similarly disparaging nicknames. 'Awesometastic!'" (Booklist)

    Title: A Face Like Glass
    Author: Frances Hardinge
    Narrator: Kevin T. Collins
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 17 hrs and 28 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-09-17
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 84 votes
    Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10
    Publisher's Summary:
A Face Like Glass is an astonishing and imaginative novel from the Costa Award-winning author of The Lie Tree, Frances Hardinge.
In the underground city of Caverna, the world's most skilled craftsmen toil in the darkness to create delicacies beyond compare - wines that can remove memories, cheeses that can make you hallucinate, and perfumes that convince you to trust the wearer, even as they slit your throat. The people of Caverna are more ordinary, but for one thing: their faces are as blank as untouched snow. Expressions must be learned, and only the famous Facesmiths can teach a person to show (or fake) joy, despair, or fear - at a price.
Into this dark and distrustful world comes Neverfell, a little girl with no memory of her past and a face so terrifying to those around her that she must wear a mask at all times. For Neverfell's emotions are as obvious on her face as those of the most skilled Facesmiths, though entirely genuine. And that makes her very dangerous indeed.
    Critic Reviews:
"Narrator Kevin T. Collins's style is affecting as he delivers this engaging novel, which is rich with backstories. When Cheesemaster Grandible finds Neverfell, a 5-year-old human, in a cheese vat, he's as shocked as she is. The contrast between grumpy, reclusive Grandible and his young adoptee is perfectly rendered by Collins. They live in Caverna, an underground city where babies are born without facial expressions, which must be taught by 'facesmiths.' The wealthy have only the best of everything, for example, wine that erases memories and cheese that reveals the future, which the drudges must supply. Listeners will be transported to Caverna by Collins's vivid descriptions of the strange place and even more peculiar people. After seven years, Neverfell's maturity is audible as she observes the inequality that surrounds her when she leaves the safety of Grandible's home. Her fear will be shared by listeners as she realizes that she's in danger because of her expressive face. The touching epilogue brings a satisfying conclusion." (AudioFile Magazine)

really fun story, funny and exciting.
main character is enduring and brave. the story is full of clever ideas that keep your imagination spinning. the plot twists and is a happy story after all.
    Best fiction I've ever read.
The language was so unconventional but so understandable. The story was delightful! The experience was great for kids and adults alike.
    Truly original story
Stick with this story. The twists and turns come fast. Once you accept the premise (underground people whose faces are incapable of natural expressions) , you are hooked. Recommended!
    oh my boring
It was a struggle to finish. I feel like I should have read it before listening to it because the narrator bored me to sleep.
    I love the reader
The performance was amazing. Good job to the reader, I could listen to him all day.

    Publisher's Summary:
This young listeners' edition of Christina Baker Kline's New York Times best-selling novel Orphan Train follows a young foster girl who forms an unlikely bond with a 91-year-old woman. Adapted and condensed for a young audience, Orphan Train Girl includes an author's note.
Molly Ayer has been in foster care since she was eight years old. Most of the time, Molly knows it's her attitude that's the problem, but after being shipped from one family to another, she's had her fair share of adults treating her like an inconvenience. So when Molly's forced to help an elderly woman clean out her attic for community service, Molly is wary. Just another adult to treat her like a troublemaker.
But from the very moment they meet, Molly realizes that Vivian, a well-off 91-year-old, isn't like any of the adults she's encountered before. Vivian asks Molly questions about her life and actually listens when Molly responds. Molly soon sees they have more in common than she thought. Vivian was once an orphan, too - an Irish immigrant to New York City who was put on a train to the Midwest with hundreds of other children - and she can understand, better than anyone else, the emotional binds that have been making Molly's life so hard. Together, they not only clear boxes of past mementos from Vivian's attic, but forge a path of friendship, forgiveness, and new beginnings for their future.

Title: From Percy Jackson: Camp Half-Blood Confidential
Subtitle: Your Real Guide to the Demigod Training Camp
    Author: Rick Riordan
    Narrator: Jesse Bernstein
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 22 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-02-17
    Publisher: Listening Library
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 60 votes
    Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10
    Publisher's Summary:
In response to an awful camp orientation video created by the god Apollo, Percy Jackson and other residents of Camp Half-Blood answer such questions as "what is this place?" and "do I get to keep the T-shirt?" Newbies can check out the section on the divine cabins, learn about magical landmarks, and consult the chapter on training arenas.
But Camp Half-Blood Confidential explores much more than just the buildings and grounds. It includes info that can be learned only from those who live there. For instance, campers do not always coexist in peace and harmony. The camp is not run with superior efficiency. Prophecies do not flow forth with great regularity. Sprinkled throughout are stories from heroes who have called Camp Half-Blood home or just passed through on their way to places unknown. Chiron himself introduces the book with a brief history of training based on his millennia of experience. And, of course, there are divine words of wisdom from the god Apollo himself, because...well, because the demigod authors would prefer not to be struck down, thank you very much.

    funny and entertaining
it's made up of several short stories about camp and half bloods told with a lot of humor. even better as an audiobook
    So amazing
Rick Riordan is my favorite author and to make a book about Camp Half-Blood is even better!
It has all the stuff you need to now about Percy Jackson
I like the first chapter hhhnnnhhn is the only hhhhh gggggg lakkskskkskkkkkkkkkkkkk mmm m m
    I want a refund.
short, short book. not worth the money I spent on it. I want my money back
Odd Installment; may not be worth it.
My son enjoyed this more than I did, but we would both agree that this was something of a disappointment. One of the best narrators, but a short and episodic book that doesn't really lend itself to an audio book. Some of the chapters were hard to follow and might be skipped. The end is just a glossary and dictionary type entries.
This may not be worth buying unless you are a completist.

Emily and James's teacher Mr. Quisling is up to something mysterious. First, there's the news clipping with an unusual note that he drops at a book event. Then Emily and James discover their teacher has been receiving encrypted messages in a series of Mark Twain books hidden through Book Scavenger.
When Emily and James decipher the messages, they begin to suspect Mr. Quisling is hunting a long-rumored treasure of buried gold. Intrigued by this prospect and what it could mean for her family's financial struggles, Emily and James set out to best their teacher. But when they research Mark Twain and the Gold Rush era, they learn about a serial arsonist from the 1800s who called himself The Lightkeeper, and the seemingly unrelated string of arson fires around San Francisco suddenly seem more ominous. Especially when they realize the fires have been set in the exact locations where Mr. Quisling found the Mark Twain books.
Is a copycat Lightkeeper trying to stop Mr. Quisling? Or could Mr. Quisling himself be the arsonist? By the time Emily and James uncover the answers, much more is at stake than whether or not Emily will have to move again.

    Publisher's Summary:
Four Pokémon diaries with exciting adventures to tell
Diary one: Squirtle isn't too happy about life. Since his trainer left him, he has been hiding in a cave with a bunch of gang members (also Squirtles). He appointed himself to be their leader, and he pulls pranks on people and other Pokémon. But a series of events leads to his self-discovery, a new trainer, new friends, and a vicious enemy: Team Rocket. Will Squirtle save the day by preventing James from throwing a bomb on his home? And will he choose to evolve into a Wartortle or a Blastoise? Or will he give some other that opportunity?
Diary two: In this adventure, Charmander tells about how he met Ash and how he escaped the rainstorm and made sure the flame at the end of his tail didn't get extinguished. He also battles another Pokémon, a water type, and he faces his worst fears in the hollow depth of a mysterious tree. Hear about the courageous Charmander, who confronts himself and overcomes his fears by looking for practical solutions.
Diary three: What will Eevee choose? He turns into eight different Pokémon creatures. Along the way he finds out that each of these types serves a purpose and that each has its own benefits. Glaceons can turn things into ice, Umbreons can see in the dark, and Espeons can read thoughts. Will he be able to make up his mind? May, his trainer, certainly likes to experiment with his evolvements, but every time, he realizes that there is another one he can change into. Choosing between rescuing a child, killing a dangerous water type Pokémon, or revealing the evidence of a crime investigation is tough. Decisions...decisions...
Diary four: This Snorlax has a huge appetite, but that's okay as long as he can take his yearlong "nap", or, in other words, hibernate after storing all the food he devoured. Snorlax is happy when he fills his tummy with goodies from the supermarket, but when he goes to sleep, his slumber gets interrupted by a bunch of loud kids. He wakes up and won't stop eating. He steals food, goes island hopping, and doesn't slow down one bit! Will Ash and Misty succeed in bringing him to the laboratory so Professor Oak can take a look at this gigantic Pokémon?

    Publisher's Summary:
In this riveting debut, a boy struggling with OCD is uniquely qualified to solve a kidnapping.
Lisa Thompson's debut novel is a pause-resisting mystery with an emotionally driven, complex character study at its core - like Rear Window meets The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Matthew Corbin suffers from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder. He hasn't been to school in weeks. His hands are cracked and bleeding from cleaning. He refuses to leave his bedroom. To pass the time, he observes his neighbors from his bedroom window, making mundane notes about their habits as they bustle about the cul-de-sac. When a toddler staying next door goes missing, it becomes apparent that Matthew was the last person to see him alive. Suddenly, Matthew finds himself at the center of a high-stakes mystery, and every one of his neighbors is a suspect. Matthew is the key to figuring out what happened and potentially saving a child's life...but is he able to do so if it means exposing his own secrets and stepping out from the safety of his home?
    Critic Reviews:
"This story is an emotional roller-coaster ride, and narrator Leon Williams treats each twist and turn with depth and passion, holding listeners in rapt attention to the end. He provides a spectacular portrayal of 12-year-old Matthew... Williams takes listeners from one emotion to the next, anxious, horrified, hopeful, heartbroken, and relieved, all in one performance." (

A boy afraid to leave his room witnesses important information about a crime
The Goldfish Boy is about Matthew, a boy with extreme OCD. He is called the Goldfish Boy, because he is afraid to leave the safety of his room and is thought of as a goldfish in a tank. Because of his mental condition, people don't understand him well and when a young child goes missing, Matthew is caught in the middle.
I found this to be an interesting book that was quick to read. The action moves at a quick pace and keeps the reader engaged, especially since the text is broken up with emails. Matthew is a fascinating character and I was really rooting for him to solve the mystery of the boy's disappearance. My kids also read this book and enjoyed it. It's recommended for 8 to 12 year olds. I'd guess that some younger readers may be bothered by the disappearance of a young child, but the author handled it well and it's not a major disconcerting plot point. The story mainly focuses on Matthew and how he deals with his OCD. I think the book would be good for older readers too, like those in middle school.
