Not a very satisfactory ending

The title says it all. The plot suddenly got very airy fairy with voices from heaven and what not, help from beyond the grave, which seemed a bit daft and not in keeping with the previous books.

Sonny's health continues to deteriorate and the twins have to cope with Birch's new wife and their half-brother's scheming.

In the beginning of the original Naughty Neighbor, my heroine throws a handheld phone into the toilet, and the next morning she goes into the bathroom and sees the "slim silver antenna caught between the toilet lid and seat." Okay, so most phones don't have extended antennas anymore, but I just loved the image...so I left it in. And I don't know how many women wear front-closure bras anymore, but that got left in, too.

Naughty Neighbor is probably the most romancey of all the Loveswepts I wrote, but there's still a small mystery to unravel. Louisa Brannigan is a no-nonsense, hardworking press secretary, fighting her way to the top of Capitol Hill, with no help from her annoying neighbor, Pete Streeter. He receives phone calls all night long, he steals her morning paper, he thinks jeans are formal wear, and worst of all, he's involved Louisa in the disappearance of a pig. So this is the story of a pig in Witness Protection and love being found by a workaholic woman and a fun-loving man who makes terrible pots of coffee.

don't waste a credit!!!

AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. The narrator does her best -- she is very good. But the material isn't there. The book is jumpy. It doesn't flow. The characters aren't developed. Suddenly everyone is in love -- but you don't believe it. I was extremely disappointed. Not at all like her later books (which I love)

Silly but Fun

Definitely not going to win any awards, but it was well narrated and amusing for a silly romance. It did take a humorous approach to this genre. I don't usually read or listen to romance and only tried this one because of a free coupon. I probably would not buy this on my own without a freebie.

Worth listening to.

Killed time on my 6 hour road trip, had my traveling buddies laughing. Getting gas we were all running to get back in the car to listen.

Loco Landlord

Love Janet.Her stories always make me laugh and entertain me.C.J. Critt did an excellent job with narration.Loved the personalities she gave to both Lou and especially Pete,he was hilarious.Too bad Lou was a bit of a cold fish during some of Petes romantic advances,I would have jumped him in a New York minute.She needed to let loose and luckily Pete was just the guy to bring it out of her.Great and fun story to listen to.

Great holiday read!

Would you consider the audio edition of Holly to be better than the print version?

I always enjoy having audible versions of great stories. I love this author's work and am glad to have it in audio version.

Mistaken Identities, Love, & a Treasure Hunt

What other book might you compare Holly to and why?

It reminds me Jude Deveraux's, The Princess, which is even referenced in this story. Another high-class wealthy woman paired with a seemingly lower-class man, at least, as far as she is concerned.

The book is very short but enjoyable. A fun read. I just wish the characters were a little more fleshed out.

What did you love best about Holly?

I love the mystery and discovery of legend and that Ms. Deveraux's leading woman are a bit average, but have great gumption. Holly had some fun banter and the idea of the hidden treasure was alluring enough for me to read this book.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting part was waiting to see how it would all play out. It was predictable in the fact girl gets guy, but the journey was fun, although not extraordinary.

What does Jennifer Wiltsie bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

I'm not sure she brought anything to the story, but she was pleasant enough to listen to.

No extreme reaction. i chuckled a bit, but it wasn't one of my favorite Jude Deveraux stories.

This isn't a book high on my list of Jude Deveraux recommendations. There was a lot more sex than substance in this book. There were fun moments, but more story would have been nice. The characters were a bit shallow and unsubstantial which is a change from my normal reaction to Ms.

This is a heart warming story that will keep you chuckling all the through. I loved it.

Just okay

I got this book because I was feeling festive and wanted something Christmas themed. I hadn't listened/read any of Debbie Macomber's books, and I'm not sure I'd be eager to try another as this one was just okay.

light christmas romance

Light christmas romance. adequite plot development. Not normally a big romance fan - but this was a pleasant enough festive story. Wish it had ended abit stronger though. Seemed to just fizzle out.

Cute story

I loved this cute romance, that it was set around the Christmas holiday made it even better. The characters were fun, the storyline was different, it was all around so enjoyable. I loved the narrator she was perfect for this book.

cute holiday read

a wonderful if predictable book. Scrooge like man who has lived his whole life hurting people, his family and friends winds up tying up all the loose ends in his life thanks to angels. Not everything ends happily, but he has closure on his life.

The narrator was wonderful to listen to, and it was a most enjoyable listen, even if it was predictable. Lovely holiday read

Not my favorite, but still enjoyed the story.

I have purchased all of the angels books. And while I really enjoy Debbie Macomber's books and did like this story, I was disappointed with the angel's behaviors in this one. They were beyond mischievous!

What I enjoyed the least in this one was the Angel Gabriel's voice, I could never have imagined he would sound like that!

More of the same.

Feel good Christmas read. I have found some better Christmas reads, but, if fixing broken people is your thing these are great books for you. Who doesn't love sappy Christmas books. Tis the Season.

Enjoyed it

This audiobook was well done, it just seemed to be a little drawn out in my opinion. Also, I had a little trouble connecting with the characters. The heroine seemed to be kind of a whiner at times. I think perhaps it is that I'm from a different generation than the characters that made the characters a little off putting.

4.5 'I'm So Thirsty' Stars!

I loved this second book in the Blackhawk Boys series! This opposites attract/forbidden love was funny, angsty, heartbreaking, hopeful, and sexy. Grace has a past she is not proud of and is trying to put it behind her. She is working hard to be the woman she wants to be, but unfortunately her past keeps following her. Her father is overly concerned and protective of Grace. He arranges for her to stay with his new wifes' son while they are on their honeymoon. The surprise is when they meet, Grace remembers Chris from High School but he doesn't remember her. Grace has changed her appearance and has left that embarrassing time behind her, and when the chemistry sparks between them, she doesn't want to lose it by reminding him of who she really is. Chris is the ultimate thoughtful, kind, and sexy man. He has a reputation for always being in control, that is until he meets Grace. He is so attracted to her, but is trying to be the responsible caretaker that Grace's father asked him to be, and it's driving him crazy. Grace is so different than the kind of woman he usually goes for, but she is bringing out the passion he didn't know he had. There are running story lines from the first book that add drama along with Graces past that is following her. The issues Ms Ryan tackled have no easy answers or solutions. She did a fabulous job showing empathy for each character and their struggles. I loved both Chris and Grace as they grew into the strong, confident, passionate people who were perfect for each other. I really loved Summer Roberts narration. I thought her delivery was spot on and passionate. Tyler Donne did a good job as well but I needed a bit more inflection at times especially when Grace was driving Chris crazy. Overall I really enjoyed the performance of both narrators, and thought they really complimented this story. The epilogue had me in tears and was the perfect ending, for now, to this story. I definitely recommend this book!

Not worth the credit

I was very disappointed with this purchase. The whole book was from a negative view.

Great Listen!

Lauren Landish and Willow Winters are two authors whom I read frequently, so I know and love their writing style. The narrators were both new to me and they did a very good job performing their POV chapters. With the audiobook it's easier getting into Liam and Ell's minds. This story was totally original. I had previously read the book, so I knew there were some unexpected twists, miscommunication between the Liam and Ell and a great ending. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of. This book left me craving sugar cookies and more. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator. I do not like providing spoilers in my review. This is a standalone book and does not end in a cliffhanger.

Love the narration.

JF Harding is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. His narration is spot on. Holly Chandler was great as well.

I enjoyed the story. It was fun, sexy, intense, with a side of suspense that had me not wanting to hit pause. Damn those interruptions.!

This writing duo is also on my watch list now. I look forward to more from each of them.

This story was just awful...

I didnt want to finish but I forced myself. The characters were not well developed. The story was rushed and this was unbelievable. I would say this was one of the cheesiest fluff novels. No depth, no good sex scenes, no good drama, even the hero and heroine werent built up to worth doing. There wasnt a trait they had that Id want a mate. The whole book just awful. Waste of 5 and a half hours.

boring

the storyline drug on far too long. the main character can't seem to get the courage needed to do anything. he mentally bullied her at time to try and get her to do things. very frustrating story. couldn't finish.

Yes, I would try another one from Sloan Storm. I am not so sure about Beth, maybe?

Make the leading female (Fiona) have some balls! She was scared of everything and cried all the time. It got very old. The guy could have been less of a douche too. I just didn't like either one of these characters.

What would have made Slipperless Series Box Set: Five Volume Collection better?

Yes I would have made this book a series there is no way i would have bought every last book. The collection is the best way to go to get your money's worth other than that no.

No it has not but these books are so dull and drawn out. Fieona needs some back bone.

How could the performance have been better?

Beth I just don't like her voice of a narrator. I get the message she was trying to convey with Fiona being shy and timid. but she was putting me to sleep after book one I'm about to return it.

Good start to the series :)

This was a good story. I liked Kim and Vince and the story was enjoyable overall but there were a few times I had trouble feeling completely sucked in to the story. I will say I almost gave it 4 stars but for the most part it felt like more of a 3 star read and I just couldn't go 4 stars for the overall rating.

Kim is a photographer that comes to Fortuity to take promotional photos of construction of a casino that's being put up in town. Her mother died when she was young and her father became a controlling jerk in the guise of being protective and looking out for her. Kim got out of her dad's clutches, only to get involved with a guy that tried to push her around (in a nice way) as well. They end up breaking up right as Kim is starting her photo job in Fortuity.

Vince is a bit of both a good and bad guy. He works in a rock quarry but supplements his income with odd jobs, some of which aren't legal. He's been in jail (although it hasn't been for anything too serious) and is currently on probation. On the other hand, his mother has checked out (mentally) and he lives with her so he can take care of her. He doesn't sleep around constantly but when he does, he's never been one to get attached and is usually looking for the door soon after he's had his fun.

When the story begins, Vince gets a call from one of the sheriff's deputies, Alex. He and Alex have been friends for a long time (regardless of the fact that sometimes they fall on opposite sides of the law) and he's concerned when Alex wants to meet him at the bar talking about having seen some bones. Alex says he needs to talk to Vince about it and since he's freaked out, Alex agrees to meet him. Alex never makes it to the bar and the next day, Vince finds out that Alex supposedly died in a car accident. Vince thinks something is up with the whole "bones" thing and then Alex suddenly having a fatal accident but can't get anyone to believe him...not even some of his oldest friends. Around this time, Kim arrives in Fortuity for her photo shoot and decides she need s drink. She goes to the local bar and attracts the attention of Vince.
