very basic. if you have 5/ 7 years experience in finance you will find this book very basic. Not interesting.

Take the five star reviews with a grain of salt...

I have to say the five star reviews look a little fishy. I did a spot check and none of the reviewers had written another review. (Nothing wrong with helping your friend out!) Oh well. I'll get the book anyway. It sounds like just what I'm looking for. I will however keep the lower star reviews handy as an errata sheet. Cheers.

One of the greatest analysis book i've ever read.. it explains a difficult process in simple words

Simple and uncomplicated

Excellent book

The best book written about Warren Buffett investing methodologies!!

As a Warren Buffett Fan, I read most of the books written about Warren Buffett over the years. In my view, this book is the best book written about Warren Buffett investing methodologies. The author explained it so simply with lot of examples. Since he explained with his own investments, it was very clear.

These parts of the book I liked it very much,

* He started with the great self confidence chapter "Replicating Warren Buffett Success". The author calculated even with half the success of Warren Buffett investment track records, investors can be able to retire as a Multi Millionaires and shown many examples of people did just like that. Book page numbers 3 to 7.

* Stock research checklist items explained with lot of examples. Best of part of the book chapters are from Chapter 5 to 23, page numbers from 37 to 191. The checklist I like the best are, How to identify the company management integrity from the 10K and 10 Q reports? How to evaluate the management? How to identify the turn around opportunities and intrinsic value calculation.

* Where to search for stock prospects, chapter 25 is another important chapter. Most of the Warren Buffett book authors explain about the Warren Buffett's previous investments and leave it there. This author explained where to search for stock prospects, that is excellent.

* Another chapter, which I liked it, is, Chapter 28, Mr. Market and Investor Psychology. He explained it, how public investors behave in stock market.

After listening to this book, I feel that I understand the developing world much better. I totally agree with everything the author said about my home country -- Russia. This makes me think that what he says about other countries is also quite true. The author carefully examines each country and provides a lot of facts, which he thinks are important in making investment decisions in these countries.

Pure Listening Pleasure!

I really loved this book. I've read and listened to quite a few books on "how to be frugal", but they all seemed to be written by people I honestly felt I would not hang out with if I met them in life. This book, however, gave me the exact opposite feeling. Lorilee, the author, has a wonderful self-depricating sense of humour and she does get the fact that the majority of people who are looking to save money are people for whom it does not come naturally.

I loved her anecdotes and found myself bursting into laughter with Lorilee's retelling of the financial mistakes she has made in her life. This book is incredibly inspiring and as I listened I would frequently bookmark and make notes on passages that resonated with me. I have recommended this book to my friends and family members who, like myself, need to start being mindful about our money but can't stand the smugness of most of the frugal-living authors out there.

I've learned more with this book than googling money secrets. It's so down to earth that even the poorest of folks can benefit from reading & heeding it. I for one will not be throwing out anything anymore but instead putting it to good use & having fun while saving big money:)

Here's a Money Secret: Don't buy this book.

What I had hoped would be at least a literary listen turned out to be a list of entirely ordinary and everyday saving ideas. As an audio book it fails completely. I'm sure to browse through you might pick up an average money saving tip. But if you live a reasonable life already - don't bother. Mending clothing, repairing dryers and organizing your closet are not illuminating ideas.

Enjoyed MOST of the Book

I enjoyed most of the book. Lots of money-saving tips. I didn't like how much time was spent on shopping. She didn't really need to go into how much everything costs, item-by-item. I tuned most of that out after a while.

Would have given it 2.5 star if it were an option.

In my opinion, this book should have been WAY shorter and cost less. Fred spent only 12 weeks working undercover with all the trainee collectors and only made it out of the First phase of training on a gimme at week 10ish. He never spent time with the higher ranking collectors. The ones that generate HUGE fee for the company. Those are the ones that I wanted to learn about. Not the trainee collectors. The 12 weeks of collection office experience was turned it into the first 5:30 min of story about said experience and the characters that he worked with. Then in the last 32 minutes the real information is revealed. Which was (at best) ok and saved the book from a 1 star.

A little different than I expected

I am going to give this book 5 stars because it was better (in a good way!)than I expected. I thought that the book was going to be entirely about how the author ate "rice and beans" and got out of debt. There is some of that in the book but it also has a lot of information that prevokes thoughts like... What is it that I want out of life? or How doe being normal keep me from the living the life that I want? You will get out of the book as much as you are willing to be open minded at looking toward the possiblility that you may need to make changes in your life.

The simple dollar was a great listen
