Great book with interesting plot

It's the first Jules Verne novel I've read and I really enjoyed seeing how literature was written years ago. It wasn't dumbed down like some of the things printed today. I had to look up the meaning of some of the words, which made the book even more interesting. I'll have to go find more of his works.

Read it! Read it again!

For someone who didn't remember the plot, I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. The flora, fauna and chemistry was above me, but that's what reading is all about. Jules Verne deserves all the popularity he's received through the generations.

Cast yourself away with this excellent book.

I really enjoyed this tale of survival and adventure. The author has obviously researched the science available to him a hundred years ago in great detail, and the folks on the island benefit greatly as a result. The vintage writing style is a breath of fresh air, once you get used to it.

What did you like best about The Werepuppy and The Werepuppy on Holiday? What did you like least?

I liked the fact that these books followed on from each other, allowing you to get to know the characters, and contained some humour.I least liked the dialogue which felt unrealistic for portraying how children/characters would really communicate and the narration was truly awful.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

There was very little expression, hardly any change in tone or style when portraying different characters. Narrator made it feel quite dated and old fashioned.

Do you think The Werepuppy and The Werepuppy on Holiday needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Possibly, although would not consider listening to any story by same narrator.

A fun occasional read

Its a fun book, my kids enjoyed trying to find the spider. I like the math teaching elements. Its not something you can read everyday, but overall a good price for a good book.

Great for children starting school

My son loves this book. It's a cute story that highlights the experiences of a kindergartner. Great for a child about to enter pre-k or kindergarten. I also like the fact that math concepts are a part of the story.

Beautiful Christmas Story to enchant a child's heart

We found this book at a thrift store right around Christmas. It is written by the Christmas ornaments. One Christmas nobody comes to open the box. They are worried and sure that Christmas is due. We learn that Lily their owner may not have any more Christmases. And then a surprise her children and their children will carry on the tradition. I love that the author tells where each ornament is from and why even though they are not new they are priceless. Sometimes in this day and age we place value on items being new, not being sentimental.

I recommend this Christmas story, my 18 month old loves to read it.

Great Book

What a wonderful way to remember Grandmom! My daughter checked this book out of the library last winter shortly after my Mom passed away. I did not know what it was about until I started reading it to her. Offcourse I started to cry while reading it. This Christmas I will be purchasing this book to read to my children and I will be giving each of my sisters a copy to read to their children. My Mom loved Christmas and we want to pass her love of Christmas on to our children.
