Several years ago, I named a chapter from a book I was writing, "The Need For a Global Reset" and named a sub-chapter "It's Time For a Tectonic Shift - Of Our Hearts." Little did I know just how soon the opportunities were going to be presented to us globally and just how prescient it was all going to be!.

Our world since its genesis, was meant to beautifully function in a system grounded in reciprocity, trade-offs, 2-way streets. We were never meant to take more than we contributed, to all, both human and non-human life. Whatever the source of our current pandemic...whether transmission from animal to human, a laboratory leak or out of control germ warfare, something was bound to get our attention. WE DESPERATELY NEED A GLOBAL RESET - OF OUR HEARTS!

Change can be difficult. It's a matter of perspective. Though the underlying causes and duration can be very different, it's also inevitable, but most get to choose the game they're going to play. Individually and collectively, we can choose to resist the change, desperately and fruitlessly clinging to the rope that moment by moment slips through our hands and go down with the ship or embrace it, setting aside and wiping clean what we think we know and be the beneficiaries of a brave not yet fully discovered new world. This past New Year's evening as I was watching television with my wife Fran and sister-in-law Shein, a well-known personality just kind of put out there his resolution for 2020...he simply wants to do better at everything. Given that that's an enormous and impractical hurdle, to say nothing of it being a huge waste of time, that's in the same vein as the saying "some day is no day", where someone is asked when they'll do a certain task.
