About Today’s Guest

Jenine Lehfeldt is a lifelong fitness enthusiast, a classically trained ballet dancer, a Barre, Zumba and group fitness instructor, and creator and owner of the Sweet Serenity Yoga and Wellness studio just outside of Vancouver, Canada.

Her recent life journey started when a workplace accident forced her out of a 12-year-long TV & Film Hairstylist career and had her start down the path of alcoholism and a failed suicide attempt.

Though the journey has been difficult she managed to conquer both addiction and depression and ultimately embrace the changes that came about through those challenges.

Her goal in sharing her story so openly is to help others like herself and let them know there is hope, there is help and that she has a safe space for anyone seeking solace to begin their own journey.

Dr Terri Daniel is an interfaith clinical chaplain and educator certified in death, dying and bereavement by the Association for Death Education and counselling, and in trauma counselling by the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She conducts workshops worldwide for bereaved individuals and bereavement professionals, teaching meditative, ceremonial and therapeutic processes that focus on inner transformation rather than external events.

In her book “Grief and God - When Religion Does More Harm Than Healing,” Dr Daniel explores a range of theological constructs that can inhibit the healing process for those who are grieving a profound loss. Doctrines such as original sin, salvation and eternal punishment in hell can be soul-crushing for someone dealing with loss and trauma. Similarly, the belief that prayer can change the course of events can lead to confusion and guilt when prayers don't produce the desired results.

It began in 1983 when she was involved in a horrific car accident and was thrown out of the vehicle she was in. Although she survived she was left with severe facial disfigurement.
