Disney Odd Pod

This week we venture to colorful Columbia to hop aboard the Lin Manuel Miranda jack-off train with a soundtrack of ADD rap/talk songs.  Do we make it to our destination or does the house fall apart before we open the door?  Find out this week with Encanto from 2021.

This week somehow a lovesick bear and a Mickey-fied Jack and the Beanstalk translates to Fun and Fancy Free. You're invited to one of the creepiest birthday parties you've ever seen so grab your woman  bear, give her a slap and find yourself scratching your head at the entertainment of days past.

This week we enter a world of superstars, shoe stars with Tyra Banks, and so many tropes it'll make your head spin...or your overalls ride up.  Find out if Billy Ray Cyrus has weird Dad energy, if Vanessa Williams has clearance to remove minors from oversees and how do you really know you're in the montage? It's Hannah Montana from 2009.

This week we steal from the rich and give to the poor but in animal form!  We discuss the origins of Robin Hood in unanswered questions, the unoriginality of Robin Hood as an IP, the absence of Merry Men and question the relationship between King Richard and well....everyone?  Join us as we revisit this beloved childhood classic, find out our take on Robin Hood from 1973.

This week get ready for high flying climbing in some unknown region of the Swiss Alps that is occupied only be Americans (for some reason). We see some familiar faces with James MacArthur as Rudy and Janet Munro as Elizabeth. If you haven't seen this quirky forgotten Disney film take a listen since we watched it so you don't have to.

This week, it's Lindsay Lohan's first movie and we're seeing double. Double the trouble and twice the fun with the Parent Trap from 1998.  We discuss horrible parenting, heartstring pulls, comparisons to the original film, the iconicness of Meredith Blake and the hotness of Chessy. Join us now!

This week, mystery, fun, intrigue, child abduction all the normal things. It's the Rescuers from 1977. We climb aboard our local albotross and set a course for Devil's Bayou to drink some suspect moonshine, make friends with local hillbillies and water ski on some crocodile dogs. It's all fun and games this week. Do we make it out alive?

This week we enter the great beyond...just kidding we don't go there at all and neither do these characters. I guess Disney didn't want to speculate on life after death. So instead we go to the BEFORE and learn about where souls come from and what gives us our spark.  Does this movie make us excited about life or frustrated about the notes played? Find out now!

This week we find reasons to be glad as we watch cheeky Hayley Mills as Pollyanna charming the pants off of everyone in this sleepy little town. A little town that has a love for oversized cake slices, sexy marlboro voiced doctors and now with Pollyanna's help rainbows made by crystals. It's Pollyanna this week from 1960, quite appropriate for our 160th episode.

This week we are absolutely thrilled to have our first ever guest on the show. Rob from The Podcast Wore Tennis Shoes is joining us today for Brother Bear from 2003. https://shows.acast.com/the-podcast-wore-tennis-shoes.

Join us as we explore brotherly love, bear love, man bear love, bears of love, bears bears everywhere.  Is Joaquin Phoenix the best bear voice we have ever heard? Does the music of Phil Collins pull on our heart strings? So many questions to be answered here on Disney Odd Pod this week and we are so happy to have our guest help us claw through this film.
