In this replay episode, my special guest Kassidi Jones joins me to talk about the uncomfortable but true history of pitbulls and racism. We talk about the long history of racism in our country and how pitbulls and other "guard dogs" were perceived. We highlight how white saviorism is perpetuating racism in todays culture of pitbulls and rescue. Huge thank you to Kassidi for this enlightening and nessecary conversation.
*This episode was originally recorded in 2021 but the topics and takeaways are just as relevant today!*

In this episode, I explore the concepts of relevance and pressure in dog training. I discuss how relevance, or assigning importance to certain things, lays the foundation for effective training, especially when raising a puppy or welcoming a new dog. It’s easy to give too much importance to things that aren’t crucial, so balance is key. I also talk about pressure and the importance of being mindful about how and when we apply it, ensuring it supports learning without overwhelming our dogs.
