Isn't it upside-down that the things that make you successful in traditional education are not what make you successful in the real world?

Also, it doesn't matter what organization you are in. If the people at the top believe the people at the bottom exist to make their own jobs easier, the organization is upside-down. You exist at the top to make the jobs of those under you easier. Period.

The BEST thing you can do for students is to help them see the world. It sounds daunting as the teacher, but it really isn't. Build relationships with your surrounding community members and businesses. In this podcast I explain how to do this effectively. Two quick tips: DO - Make a phone call to your local chamber of commerce before you have an exact plan. DO NOT - Build a plan and then just go to the community for money.
