In this episode, Blake and Justin introduce the doctrine of revelation by discussing General Revelation - or how nature itself testifies to the existence of God. They sip New Riff Sour Mash (Barrel Pick) sent in by a listener; and butcher the name -- it's actually "Whiskey OR death," but they misread it as "whiskey OF death." The joys of podcasting :)
The guys discuss manual watch movements, The Lord of the Rings, and a few other fun topics along the way.

We've finally reached the conclusion of our introductory episodes on Theology Proper. This is Part 3 of 3 and we've enjoyed every moment of it. Justin and Blake sip Blackened Whiskey - a Metallica inspired Blended American Whiskey masterminded by the legendary distiller Dave Pickerell (1956-2018).
During the episode we talk about the whiskey, a personal story where Blake met Dave Pickerell at a tasting event, and get into the subsets of Theology Proper specifically dealing with divine simplicity and classical theism.

In this episode (Part 2 of 3), Blake and Justin continue their discussion of Theology Proper. They sip Glendronach 15 Year Tawny Port FInish (voted on by our Patreons!) and crack some dad jokes along the way. Realizing early on that they weren't going to get through all their notes last week, the guys opted to split this topic into two parts. Well, part two is here, and we discovered we won't be finishing this topic in two parts after all. So we'll we'll continue our discussion of Theology Proper in Part 3 while we will sip Blackened Whiskey - a Metallica inspired American Whiskey distilled by the late Dave Pickerell.
Also, at some point during the episode, we announce the winner of the first ever Distilling Theology Giveaway!
The guys are super excited to announce that Distilling Theology has been invited to join the Society of Reformed Podcasters, a network of doctrinally sound podcasts from a reformed perspective - among more established podcasts like Reformed Brotherhood, Fast God Stuff, and Reformed Pilgrims, and newcomers like the Bavcast. This week, Blake and Justin revisit a field within the study of Theology and explore the various subsets within Systematic Theology while sipping Oban Distiller's Edition.
They recommend folks looking for an easy to read, engaging intro to the topic explore Dr. RC Sproul's book "Everyone's a Theologian," and after that, either visit Calvin's "Institutes of the Christian Religion," or Herman Bavinck's "The Wonderful Works of God;" the latter of which they are starting a reading/discussion group as an offshoot of the Distilling Theology Facebook Group.
