  • waking up wearing a smile

I once believed that being married meant I had 'made it' with my life. Great job - check. Great husband - check. I awoke each morning with a smile on my face, believing everything was as it should be - all good.

When I became a widow, I realized I was the one that made my life a 'success', and not how I originally thought it would be.

Happiness comes from within, not externally. Ever. Smiling now for the rights reasons: me.

  • AAAARGH

This morning, when I thought through the list of impending things to do, the stress I felt about not (yet) completing those tasks, had me vocalizing with great frustration.

Ahh, that energy doesn't belong to me, and whomever sent it was projecting with their own life energy (you know, THAT juju), just to make it head my way, in hopes of knocking me off my block. Um, no. Ain't happenin', but feel free to head over to one of my music playlists to hear that energy transmuted into music, instead.

  • when you're out and about, eat out

That was one expensive habit, eating out when not at home, and was an axiom in my life for most of my commuting years. It continued when working from home became the norm for me, with my late husband and I eating out for lunch.

Now, those funds are cut from the budget, and it got me thinking about the mindless manner we throw money away, just to feel better about our lives.

  • adding routines without chaos

A few days ago, I spontaneously decided to post these videos on a few podcasting platforms without really knowing what was necessary to do so. The process got me thinking about all the routines we willingly add to our lives, without hesitation, only to initially feel a bit of chaos, when settling in to the new.

  • box ticked: Not Lonely

As a widow with online social profiles, I'm a target for scammers, particularly, for romance. And, understanding that, the best protection/prevention is to be engaged with fun stuff by myself, just as I keep my physical body in the best shape possible with a good diet and exercise.

  • freeing a spiritual log jam

On days where I have a large chunk of free time, I go through the list in my head of all those to-be-dealt-with-later projects. The ones that I postpone to do until I feel like doing it. Forgiving myself while I await a change in vibe releases the spiritual log jam of shame, regret, and remorse, deepening my faith that everything will happen when it's supposed to.

  • wishing you peace and calm

For me, sending and receiving condolence sentiments used to be a slightly awkward moment, given the timing of receiving such news is always unplanned. It's like being caught on your back foot. And, I don't often receive such news, so it's taken a while to communicate better at these times - for both the sender and the recipient.

  • are you good?

Those who choose to ask 'how are you?' are, based on my interactions, energy siphoners. They don't see themselves that way, but nonetheless, are, in my view. And, given that it's easy to get folks to mirror folks - send out what you wish to receive - I take a different approach to greeting people now. And, in doing so, I see with clarity who's who.

  • de-vine what's not divine

My life hack to remaining positive, no matter what incoming negative energetic projections are sent my way, is to commit to things that interact with weather. It's the immutable force that must be dealt with to gain the most happiness, so I prefer to show up, doing what I love to do, no matter the weather. Mother Nature's schedule doesn't yield to mine, but showing up, regardless, is rewarded by the occasional bit of veg and fruit that is the star in an otherwise, simple healthy meal. Better haalth is the fuel to support your soul.

  • what did you say?

One of the features of being married to a non-native English speaker, who occasionally sleep talks, is for the English spouse not understanding what they're saying.

    It's all about trust.

This episode is an amalgam of various chats and music for the day, a sobriquet of the first full day of spring.
