Occasionally, I come across a policy/law/municipal code that I realize was enacted just 'cause a few folks abused the privilege and the words were put in place to prevent such future problems. I reside in a village that wants all the garbage bins to be unseen from the front view of the house, unless it's collection day, for example. I get it. For what it's worth, the code isn't enforced.

Today, I applied for a temporary position at a major music publisher, and during the application process they asked for disclosure of any 'side gigs' [their words, not mine] that potentially be considered as a conflict of interest. Given that during my employ at a variety of intellectual property companies, and had my own business running in similar, but certainly not competing, specialities, this new policy is of interest. I'm guessing not many are persons of integrity or discretion these days. Yikes.

As a homeowner, household emergencies sometimes align with previously-scheduled events, such that the impact of that emergency is more easily endured by not actually being in the household during the event itself, and that my absence isn't contributing to worsening the situation, either. It's the minimal liminal energetic space experience.

And, with that, came the moment the neighbors confessed to peeping to my blog. Cue: the bongoes and berets in the purple velvet grotto.

I'm channeling Benjamin Franklin today after stressing the well. And, like his sentiment of this quote, as published in Poor Richard's Almanac, is all about showing up in life, being aware and present, at all times, not just when the dosh is good. For me, that mindset was eliminated while destitute, but I don't wish that on anyone. But, I do wish to share the simplicity of not taking anything/anyone for granted.

For me, when all else fails, forgiveness of self and all those around us, is the way forward. An extra dose is laid on for the spiritual attackers. You know, the 2.0 souls (second gen) figured their plans and actions would ever be seen. Oops. They hadn't planned on the two 1.0 souls (the ones with all the gifts) would be brought back together, facing one another as target and hitman. Their best guy is unknowingly going to be reunited with his eternal love, who was hired to eliminate his target. Ooh, didn't see that coming, did ya? Gees, that's tough on the team losing their leader, then, losing their reason for being, all in one move. Ouch. Forgiveness all 'round.

Realizing those inexplicable 'urges' to touch my nose weren't organic to me (there was no reason for me to have such an itch), then me, pro-actively resisting the urge, by not touching my nose, are the confirmations I need to understand that not all energy around me is good. Calling out those who choose to throw stones, then hide hands, energetically, helps us all understand that it's trespassing, and that won't do. Wagering proves malicious intent to trespass.

The first waking thought of the day sets the day on its path, and for me, lately, my first thought is of peace and calm. Ironically, given I had always believed I awoke blissfully happy in my marriage, this serene vibe is truly open and authentic - a perspective learned, and now shared with you.

If I could travel back in time a few years, while married to a person with a substance abuse disorder, I would tell myself to spend less than I earn, and to at the very least, add dosh to the piggy bank each and every pay period.

Each type of abuse has a double impact, the physical degradation and the depletion of resources. The only way forward is to exert control of self in all aspects of your mind, body and spirit realms.

When the world sees you as the success you see in yourself, say, in one expertise, go on and teach yourself something new, just by using what you already know.

Ignore the emotional smoke screens sent by the haters who wish to corral you in life, just so they can distract you while they jump in and live your destined life. Their diabolic, thieving actions will never succeed, but they won't stop hating, either - that's their expertise.

Level up that new second skill vs the first, as it doubles your spiritual protection against the haters. Then, have a look in the mirror at all that is good - and smile.

From my experience, the 'traditional' method to teach music isn't best suited for me, and I'm sure that's a shared sentiment with other music students. The truth is those instructors who lean into 'the way it's always been done' are merely masking their inadequacies as performers (in this case). You know, those that can't do, teach, no matter what level of pedagogy. Um, no, that won't do when learning how to play an instrument.
