Dive Into Jesus Devotional

This is episode 88 where we talk about how I think some people try to control their mouths but do nothing about their thoughts. That's like pulling off the top of a weed, unless the root is dug up, the weed always comes back. You'll never control your mouth unless you first learn to control your mind.

Proverbs 18:21 says "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I want to change my thoughts so that I can speak life-giving words. Help me fill my thoughts with Your Truth so that my words reflect You. Please guide myself and anyone listening right now wherever you need us to go. We love you with everything we have Lord, Amen!

This is episode 87 where we talk about how We don't all live in the same season at the same time. You should never be jealous of someone who is enjoying harvest while you're still in the planting season. Remember, they had to go through a season of planting just as you are.
 
Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven"

Prayer: Lord, because seedtime is necessary for harvest time, I won't get discouraged while I'm waiting and feeling like nothing's happening. I will continue to obey and trust You, knowing that You will bring me into my harvest at just the right time. Please guide myself and anyone listening right now wherever you need us to go. This is episode 86 where we talk about how I've made mistakes in my life, and I'm sure I'll make mistakes in the future, but I still like myself. The fact is, I don't do everything right all the time, but that doesn't affect who I am. I know I'm loved and I'm still a good person. That's because I've learned to separate my 'who,' new creature in Christ, from my 'do.'
 
2 Corinthians 5:17 says "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to separate my 'do' from my 'who'. I can like myself and experience freedom from shame because You are constantly working in my life. Pease guide myself and anyone listening right now wherever you need us to go. We love you with everything we have Lord, Amen!

This is episode 85 where we talk about how many of us spend far too much time trying to figure out how we can get blessings for ourselves. People sometimes spend their entire lives trying to accomplish what they think is important, never trusting God or letting Him lead them. In the end, this leaves them depressed and unfulfilled.
 
Psalm 37:3 says, "Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper."

Prayer: God, I don't want to live a selfish, self-centered life. I trust You to bring the right blessings into my life while I'm busy doing good for everyone You've placed in my life. This is episode 84 where we talk about how we certainly don't want to move in the flesh or out of God's timing, but when God is moving, you can't be afraid to move with Him. Satan brings fear to our mind and emotions when the Holy Spirit is trying to lead us in a new direction. He tries to use fear to keep us from moving forward with God.

Isaiah 41:10 says, 'Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.'

Prayer: Lord, I want to follow You wherever You lead. Help me to place my fear aside and move forward with You. Please guide myself and anyone listening right now wherever you need us to go. We love you with everything we have Lord, Amen!

This is episode 83 where we talk about how enduring also means going through a time of temptation without letting it change your attitude or commitment. Jesus never treated people differently when He was being tempted, and when we have Christian maturity, we can follow His example. Jesus understands exactly what we're facing with temptation. Sometimes He allows us to face temptations so He can bring attention to areas of weakness in our lives and help us overcome them. The only way you can have all that Jesus wants you to have is to be what He wants you to be. And that maturity comes through trials.

James 1:12 says, "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I believe You are with me during times of temptation so that I can be patient and stand strong, always staying one step ahead of the devil. Please guide myself and anyone listening right now wherever you need us to go. We love you with everything we have Lord, Amen!

This is episode 82 where we talk about how our number one enemy is emotions. We tend to be led by how we feel, but we must realize that feelings are fickle and change from day today. We should be careful not to follow every thought that comes to our mind because our thoughts and feelings don't dictate truth to us.

John 14:16 says 'And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,'

This is episode 81 where we talk about how If you want to have power in your marriage and in your prayer life, then you have to get along. The big question is: How can a disagreeing couple learn to agree? Agreement comes when the people involved stop being selfish. Selfishness is an immature inward focus. The key is to care about what the other person needs, be willing to humble yourself, and do what you can to meet those needs.

Matthew 18:20 says "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

This is episode 79 where we talk about how Jesus didn't promise that we'd never have to deal with stressful situations. In John 16:33, He said, "In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration." But He goes on to say that we can be of good cheer because He has conquered the world.

Luke 10:19 says, "Behold! I have given you authority, over all the power that the enemy possesses; and nothing shall in any way harm you."

Prayer: God, I receive the authority and the power that You have given me. Show me how to walk in Your authority and overcome the trials and challenges of this world like Christ.
