In Episode 6 of the Diverging Clear Podcast, we’re talking about the rail contract negotiations that haven’t been resolved yet especially with 1 of the 3 major unions rejecting their agreement and the other 2 unions poised to do the same thing. Also the implications this fight can have on other labor movements currently taking place with places like Amazon and Starbucks! #divergingclearpodcast #divergingclearpodcastyoutube #emerailsolutionsllc #fyp #rail #logistics #labor #ns #csx #cn #cp #kcs #bnsf #up
What is the Diverging Clear Podcast?? Well it's not your typical train podcast! As a matter of fact, it isn't your typical podcast!! Transportation and Logistics? Two of the biggest components of a fair and equitable economy! With them you thrive! Without them you falter! This podcast discusses all aspects of transportation and logistics with emphasis on the rail. The railroads helped build this country! But if America is going to maintain its global economic dominance, transportation needs to be reimagined as network of moving parts and not a competition to drive the other modes out of business!!
Episode 5 of the Diverging Clear Podcast discusses the realities of being a railroad employee in America! Even though a tentative agreement has been reached between the carriers and labor unions. it still has to be approved by the members! Major point of contention , paid sick time off! for those that don't know, many railroad employees do not have paid sick time off, And the carriers want to keep it that way.
Episode 4 discusses the current state of contract negotiations between the Class 1 carriers and the unions representing Engineers and Conductors on American Railroads. The Presidential Executive Board has made recommendations to President Biden, but the BLET and SMART TD don't believe the recommendations go far enough. #railroads #trains #railroadlaborunions #PEB #BLET #SMARTTD #unions #contract #negotiations #logistics #trending #strike #supplychain
Episode 3 of the Diverging Clear Podcast discusses America's policy to kill passenger rail service and subsidize other forms of transportation and businesses. I'm actually discussing more of the "Why". The typical answers doesn't suffice when you take a look at some other contributing factors and motivations. In this episode I tie some policy decisions made at the Executive level of the Federal Government starting at Richard Nixon but in all honesty he just continued to carry on previous policies but he just messed up and said it out loud. Don't take this episode as a conspiracy theory. If you doubt the words, the information is out there. I just put it together with a little help from visiting Pullman Days in Chicago.
