Diving into Deep Waters

It’s a new year, a new me, a new everything! Have you said any of these things about “2023”?

We put so many expectations on entering a new year and are so quick to discard the year we just left. Maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the old year. Let’s dive into “2023” but let’s see what is valuable from “2022”.

It hit me as I was reading the account in Luke 1 that Mary the mother of Jesus, had some amazing characteristics. So much so I felt we needed to dive into who she was and what we could learn from her as she was told the news that she had been chosen to give birth to the Messiah. Things are going pretty well for Joshua the leader of the Israelites. He’s crossed into the promise land, conquered Jericho and in comparison to those big things, needs to make a small decision to make a treaty with some foreigners. Seems simple

enough, or is it? Maybe not because Joshua finds himself in a heap of trouble all because he “didn’t inquire of the Lord!” Sound familiar? Chances are it does so let’s dive in and see what we can learn.
