In the first-ever episode of Divorce Sux the podcast, learn about why I wrote the book ‘Divorce Sux: a dad’s journey through marriage breakdown and divorce'.
I reflect on my journey through divorce and how a series of events culminated in a book being written on my iPhone during the morning commute to work (01:26).
I discuss why I think men aren’t particularly good at talking about hard, emotional topics like separation and divorce (08:14).
I also talk about my heart ache at seeing how badly was kids were affected by the on-going issues between me and my wife and how it helped me focus more on them, and less on the conflict (10:50).
Finally, I share some of the feedback I’ve had from people who have read my book, including how it helped provide some closure for Xana, or how it caused Owen to take a long hard look at what he was doing in his marriage (16:10).
