Stu Daly from Tallaght Co.Dublin is the bass player and singer for legendary punk band "Chewing on Tinfoil", If you're an Irish person that loves punk music, Chewie are the number 1 band. Their album Marrowbone Lane for my money is one of the best Irish albums written in the last decade. Stu also has own solo music which I have dubbed "Faux Dublin Soul" and it is as expected, a masterclass in songwriting. Rob Flynn aka Wolfgang Barber is a highly regarded barber that co-owns Faction barbershop in Templebar. Rob also plays in a band called The Winter Passing. I was delighted to get to chat with Rob about how he got into barbering, his approaches, techniques and the community around barbering. We also dived deep into the ethos behind the shop which he co-owns with Aaron Kiely. We also briefly talk about the future of The Winter Passing, playing Feile Na Greine and if Tipp will win the all Ireland!

Andrew & Charles Hendy from Co.Louth are best known as TPM, Dundalk based Hip Hop group that has a social commentary on life in Ireland like no other. They also play in a ballad group called the Mary Wallopers and put on house shows of epic proportions in their gaff in Dundalk. Dundalk is a mad town, The Hendy's are mad characters and we have a special Co-Host called Graham who is also mad. 

Originally from the North Coast of Ireland, Ciara McMullan is a photographer based in Belfast Co.Antrim. Ciara has been documenting the N.I. music scene for over 10 years with an incredibly unique and distinctive style of photography. Ciara has since gone on to tour with bands such And So I watch You From Afar and Roe (who even supported Snow Patrol for an arena tour). Ciara is an incredibly hard working and driven person that takes photos like no other and it was amazing to get the chance to sit down with her and have a chat about all of her work!

Aisling McCallion is a Technical Knitwear Designer, Product Developer & Shima Seiki Programer according to Linkedin but more clearly, she's an incredibly talented, creative designer that specialises in Knitwear from Muff Co. Donegal. Aisling has previously worked with Inis Mean knitting Co, puts on public events to raise awareness on the damage the fashion industry does and promotes sustainable fashion. She is also currently setting up her own knitwear brand. My respect and admiration for Aisling is endless and I hope you learn as much from this conversation as I did.

Seán Huber is our ancestral representative for Co.Roscommon. Okay, I'm bending the rules a bit but if Jason McAteer can play for Ireland, then Seán Huber can be on my podcast. Anyway, Seán is the driving force behind the Philadelphia band "Steady Hands" and also was the drummer of Modern Baseball. "MoBo" Were one of the most successful bands to emerge from the Pop Punk genre in the last decade and the conversation with Seán was super insightful into how it was to have music as your career and functioning in a band of that size. We also talk about the new Steady Hands record, His work with Two Roads Brewing and Drum risers.

Ray Blackwell owns and runs De Barra's Folk Club in Clonakilty, Co.Cork. DeBarra's is a family run traditional Irish pub in West Cork that is also one of the best music venues in the country. Long standing associations with Noel Redding (the Jimi Hendrix Experience) Paddy Keenan (The Bothy Band) & Folk artists Christy Moore & Roy Harper have served as the cornerstones of this little venues world wide renown as one of the finest music house’s in Ireland. In these three decades musicians from all genres & generations have fed into the Folk Club’s magical history, with almost every performance seemingly woven into the brickwork of its worn, familiar walls.

In this conversation we hear from Ray what it takes to be the keeper of the flame for DeBarra's and some of the quirks that come along with running such a business in West Cork.
