This mix is from 1984 on Chicago'z 102.7 FM WBMX. The 1st station to educate the world to Chicago House & Detroit Techno before it was call Detroit "Techno".

A lot of great Latin Hip Hop classics here & Italion Disco which is now refered to as Italo.

It'z weird, in a cool way, Tony'z selectionz is pretty much a carbon-copy of what I grew up listening to in South Lorain (Cleveland), Ohio. Just listening to this mix bringz so much great memories pouring in from 108 FM WDMT'z Club Style Show with Dean Rufus & the club'z like Lincoln Park Ballroom & RP'z Disco.

With that being said, NY & NJ had very simular stylez in music to Cleveland more so than Chicago.

I must say, the artwork on this mixtape simply makes it sound better! LOL I believe this would be a great time 2 give prop'z 2 the many people who recorded these tapes 4 me from the beinning 2 this very day. My Infamous Cousin Manuel C., Rockin' Ray, Jeff Davis who was the guy who missed the Hot Mix 5 meeting & didn't make the Hot Mix 5 DJ Team. But he did moved 2 Florida & was good friends with my friend Ray & would invite us over while he would tag team with Ray. If I find any of those recordings I'll definitely share. Next Bill Schmilke who recorded this tape for me & added thee artwork. Gotta thanks my friends overseas Chris Low & Felix Allen who are both amazing DJ's & also guest on my then radio show with DJ Cano on 91.5 FM WPRK in Winter Park, Orlando, Florida. Of course the Chi-Town Posse!!! Mike Lombardo (Miggedy Mike), my homie/club partner too. Mike is also responsible 4 getting me a lot of Sound Factory live tapes with the 1 & only Junior Vasquez. Wes, I can't remember your last name but his uncle was good friends with Ron Hardy. Wow, there is many more of you but my brain is full after a long day at work. You know who you are, if I didn't mention you, feel free to put it in the comments.

Okay, Back 2 this mixtape, what can I say, It's Kenny 'Jammin' Jason, the DJ Farley "JackMaster" Funk who says that he learned a lot from Kenny, & that's enough for me since Farley being the reason I became a Chicago House & Detroit Techno Head.

Kenny drops a lot of Italian Imports (Italo) here with other musical elements.

We can never get enough of our Heavenly brother Ron Hardy. Here'z a rare set live from the Musik Box in Chicago back in 1984'. Brother goes str8 up Chicago Style!!! I never seen Ronnie live but through dissecting all his mixtapes I learned how he werked his crowd with his selectionz & raw editz which really inspired me to continue editing from cassette tapez 2 reel 2 reelz 2 now digitally but with an old school approach. I got most of my Ronnie tapez from my friend Wes who'z uncle was a close friend of Ronnie. Big upz 2 my brother 'Miggedy Mike' Lombardo for introducing me to Wes... & also NYC friends who were Junior Vasquez headz like myself.

Anywayz, this is Ronnie at his best!!! Chicago will alwayz be TOP!!!

Let me switch thingz up a bit here. B4 I wuz in2 any electronic muzik & funk & disco... New Wave & Punk were right there side by side with those other genres. I wuz alwayz mentally open when it came 2 muzik & still 2 thiz day. As you can listen 2 my past podcast, I would go everywhere muzikally. Not 2 show my age, but when I wuz a kid, there wuz no muzikal segregation what so ever. I would hear a motown record played next 2 a rock joint.

Anyhow, I can go on & on about that...

Here'z a recording of Billy Idol live from hiz "Rebel Yell" tour which I went 2 in Cleveland with some of my homiez back in June 5th, 1984' which iz less than a week after thiz show. Prince's original lead guitarist, Dez Dickerson & hiz band opened 4 Billy... & let me tell you they were just az good. I wish I had that show recorded being a HUGE Prince & Dez fan.
