I was driving in my car this week listening to a CD and when I switched over to my ipod, this mix came on. I recorded it several years back and it clocks in at just over 3 hours long. Of course it won't be the same as seeing the original band with the amazing FREDDIE MERCURY...but, unfortunately, we have to settle for this new incarnation. Very few people have had the kind of impact on dance music as Frankie Knuckles...he truly was the "Godfather Of House Music". So sad to see such a great talent leave us. Now that Christmas is over, and NEW YEARS is quickly approaching, I decided to post a disco mix of some of the biggest tracks that were played on a regular basis at the most infamous disco club of all time...STUDIO 54. While I never was there myself during it's hayday, I've read lots about it since I've always been fascinated by the disco era. This mix, with special thanks to producer GREG WOMACK, contains tracks by CHIC, CHER, ALICIA BRIDGES, G.Q., DAN HARTMAN, INSTANT FUNK, PATRICK JUVET, CHERYL LYNN, MUSIQUE, PEACHES & HERB, DONNA SUMMER, VOYAGE, VILLAGE PEOPLE, KAREN YOUNG, MICHAEL ZAGER BAND, D.C. LARUE and LOVE & KISSES...ENJOY, and HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!

GIORGIO MORODER is easily one of my biggest music inspirations! He had so much to do with what electronic music has become. And, the fact that he produced most of DONNA SUMMER'S work, imo her best work, doesn't hurt since she will always be one of my favorite vocalists of all time (may she rest in peace). This Podcast includes a track from DAFT PUNK'S latest release RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES entitled GIORGIO BY MORODER and includes an interview with him. Following that are some of my favorite remixes of his tracks by JIMMY MICHAELS, PATRICK COWLEY, PAUL GOODYEAR, WOMACK, etc. Most of these remixes are out of print, or were never available for sale. I had to re:eq a few of them and I think they still sound amazing. So...enjoy the trip ;)
