Ep. 2: “Something Old, Something New”

The Super Flexible gang is back to discuss one busy day in the NFL: Ezekiel Elliott is suspended, so what does it mean for Dak Prescott? Sammy Watkins is traded to the Rams, giving Jared Goff a shiny, new toy. Jordan Matthews “replaces” Watkins in Buffalo, where the slot is overflowing. Does Tyrod Taylor have enough weapons to be fantasy-relevant? And Carson Wentz and the Eagles face life after Matthews, and have yet to bat an eye.

Week 1 of the preseason is in the books, and the first round rookie quarterbacks played like they’re ready for prime time. Mitchell Trubisky leads the Bears to a near-win against Denver, DeShone Kizer shines against the Saints, DeShaun Watson steals the show against the Panthers, and Pat Mahomes matches Alex Smith step-for-step. Will these rookies reach their respective starting lineups by Week 1 of the regular season?

The Super Flexible Podcast has listeners! And some of them have questions! The guys get into SuperFlex strategy, both in trading and drafting quarterbacks: when do you trade your fourth QB, and what can you expect to get in return? America’s favorite game based on a game makes it’s debut: the guys play “You’re Nuts!” with some bold QB predictions for the 2017 season. Is Carson Palmer primed for a bounce-back year? Can Blake Bortles keep his job in Jacksonville? And two NFC signal-callers are trending in opposite directions. Or else the guys are just… well, nuts!

And Jake and Addison square off in a Cam Newton rankings debate; was 2016 an outlier, or the new normal for the 2015 league MVP? There is a strong case to be made (and strong feelings, apparently) for both sides of the argument!
