In order to make the point I give a quick refresher on the “Updated” VS “Non Updated” versions of The Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. I explain some of the differences between the different versions of the rules including how to apply the “Updated Scoring Criteria” which uses a tiered or weighted system to judge rounds based on “Effective Striking/Grappling, Aggression & Octagon Control IN THAT ORDER.” Furthermore I explain how the judge in question, who will remain unnamed, took to Twitter to “try” and defend his scorecard using the very criteria I use to explain how he couldn’t have gotten it more wrong.
