Fans of the Doctor Strange Show in Avengers Campus should quickly make their way to the Ancient Sanctum as soon as possible. The Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts show is having its final performance on June 30th. Din Tai Fung will open later this summer in Downtown Disney with some unique merchandise! The merchandise will be exclusive and have two collections: the DTF Essentials collection with will feature a hoodie and shirt with a decorative patch to pay homage to the original location in Taiwan. A classic Disneyland shop now has a second location! Construction in Critter Country will be expanding soon. Currently, Critter Country is partially closed, with Hungry Bear and the path to Galaxy’s Edge still open to guests. Guests on the Disneyland Hotel side of Downtown Disney have a new entrance to use. The new security checkpoint is located next to Din Tai Fung on the Pixar Place side of the shopping district. The new entrance has a new set of restrooms just inside security on the backside of Din Tai Fung. An interesting development has happened with the new turnstiles at Disney California Adventure. The two new entry systems that had been installed have been removed. A new pre-show has come to World of Color this week. The new segment, titled “Emotional Rollercoaster,” plays just before World of Color is to promote the upcoming “Inside Out 2” movie, which premieres on June 14th. A part of Pixar Fest has been discontinued, at least for now. Club Pixar, which was a dance party in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, had it’s last performance on June 2nd. The show had mixed to negative reviews online, with adults and teens feeling it was too childlike, while it was too late for children to take part in. Disneyland race weekend is still 8 months away, but we already have some news! The themes of the 2025 half marathon weekend, which is scheduled for January 30th through February 2nd, 2025, have been announced. The Disneyland 5K will be themed to Marvel. Weeklyteers in the parks on Memorial Day may have seen something different and wondered what it was all about. At Tiana’s Palace and Blue Bayou there were hero tables setup to honor missing heroes. Construction in Downtown Disney is coming along nicely. On the west end of the shopping district, the future security area is nearing completion, along with Din Tai Fung. An entire area in Disneyland is undergoing work from the ground up! Critter Country, which closed a few weeks ago, has had it’s walkways torn up, and there is a lot of work being done. A new droid has come to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to narrate the Season of the Force version of the fireworks. “Fire of the Rising Moons” debuted as an alternative musical score for the nightly fireworks in Batuu. An R-1 droid named Bard has now arrived to accompany the display with a narrative. The Matterhorn is turning 65 this year, and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is getting in on the celebration. Starting June 1, Trader Sam’s will offer a coconut-pineapple Dole Whip, wish a coconut shaving topping and blue and silver edible glitter mixed in. Weeklyteers staying at the Pixar Place Hotel in the concierge level now have a place to hang out. The Club Level Concierge Lounge – named the Creators Club – has opened at the hotel. The Disneyland Fire Department was at the Mickey and Friends parking structure last week, but not for a fire. A pop-up experience from the department was open near the security line for guests to learn how to use a fire extinguisher. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is under going a major refurbishment. Disneyland filed permits valued at $5 million in updates with the city of Anaheim. According to city records, the extended refurbishment will replace show elements, lighting, audio and show systems. The Fantasyland Theater is currently home to the Pixar Pals Playtime Party for Pixar Fest. The area hosts a range of Pixar characters including characters from Onward, Luca, Elemental, Up! and more! A couple other parts of Pixar Fest are receiving mixed reviews. The Better Together parade has a ton of characters and a lot of energy from the cast, but is too short at less than 15 minutes. The floats also are lackluster. Two of the locations in Downtown Disney are finally open! Centrico and Paseo are open to guests! MiceChat reports that Centrico was good with a lot of great choices and good ambiance. With PixarFest just around the corner, there is another dining option coming to Disney California Adventure. With the launch of “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration,” there will be a dessert package available to guests. The package includes reserved seating for the parade, and a selection of Pixar-inspired foods, desserts and cheeses, with unlimited soft drinks and bottled water—plus coffee and a specialty mocktail. Some interactivity has come to the construction walls at the Haunted Mansion. MagicBand wearing guests can tap on specific tap points on the walls to hear sounds from the attraction. An interesting observation was made by the crew over at MiceChat this week. Some lamp posts at Jolly Holiday, Rancho del Zocalo, and the Pirates of the Caribbean bridge have been removed. With Tiana’s Bayou Adventure winding down construction in Walt Disney World, the Ambassadors from the resort showed off some new Minnie Ears.
