Sarah Bell is a leadership coach who works with nurse managers, nurse leaders and other healthcare leaders who seek leadership development coaching. Owner of Bell’s Breakthrough Leadership Coaching, Sarah provides one-on-one and group coaching that teach her clients the skills needed to transition from being outstanding individual contributors to being exceptional nurse leaders.
Sarah has been a leadership coach for nurse leaders since 2013. She is an International Coaches Federation Professional Certified Coach and certified by the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching. Sarah is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Having spent more than 27 years in the medical field, Sarah has held various roles including vice president, regional director, training and education manager, as well as several positions as a patient care nurse. Once faced with many of the same personal and professional challenges that she now helps her clients overcome, Sarah was inspired to become a leadership coach after working with a coach of her own and finding success. Sarah came to the realization that despite having independent career success, having the ability to inspire, empower and lead others to perform at their best requires a different set of skills.
Specifically, Sarah understands that many nurses get promoted because of their exceptional patient care, but often lack the official training needed to be successful nurse managers. Sarah works with both individual nurse leaders and healthcare companies to help nurses in three distinct ways. First, Sarah helps her clients understand and embrace their roles as leaders.
Second, she teaches clients how to shift themselves and their team from daily workplace drama to focusing on what matters most – quality patient care and key performance indicators.
Third, Sarah helps her clients develop a coaching leadership approach to help them connect, engage and empower their teams, which leads to increased manager and employee retention, as well as enhanced engagement.
