Big Bi+ Questions

Do I have to come out as bi+?

Listen Later

Coming out usually doesn’t happen just once, but coming out once can sometimes mean you have to be ‘out’ everywhere. Whilst others may be able to choose where they are ‘out’.

Joseph Talison, author of ‘What not to say to a bisexual’ and ‘Discovering Douglas’ joined the Big Bi+ Questions team for a chat about coming out and being out, and why it’s sometimes harder for bi+ people to come out compared to gay and lesbian people.

If any of the topics in this episode bring up difficult or intense feelings for you, we encourage you to reach out for support from a trusted friend, community, or mental health professional. You can find a list of organisations you can turn to for support on this page: joy.org.au/support.
