When confronted with stress, our instinctual responses of fight, flight, freeze or fawn kick in to help us survive. Sometimes, overwhelmed by emotions, we may shut down or mask our deeper feelings like grief or pain with anger. Yet, without allowing ourselves to shed tears, we risk remaining trapped in anger, feeling disempowered or emotionally stagnant.
