Today’s topic is a bit of a juicy one and that is talking about niches! 

The reason it’s a bit of a juicy topic is because a lot of people are dead set on you needing a niche and that being the key to your success as a designer. And while having a niche that works for you is a great tool, my worry is that if you’re a designer starting out and you see a blog post or listen to podcast saying you absolutely need a niche, you might panic and jump into choosing a niche which actually doesn’t work for you.

When I started my business, I fell into this trap too, I saw so many people saying this is something you need and you need to choose a specific group of people to work with and that’s the only way you’ll get work and so for a while, I was really stuck - I don’t want to just work with photographers or coaches so does this mean I won’t get any clients?
