He warns against syncretism, where Christians gradually align the gospel with the values of their surrounding culture or political party. Instead, he challenges believers to let Jesus set the agenda, holding together all the issues he cares about–from justice and compassion to truth and righteousness. The call is simple but challenging: follow Christ first, and refuse to reduce him to the spokesperson for any political party.
