Slomosa started with just 4 guys playing riffs, drinking beers and eating pot brownies. Over the past 10 years they've changed band members and developed into the overlords of Tundra Rock. Slomosa have toured the world and are getting ready to come back to America, and not just America, but Florida. Before their tour Ben Berdous came on the show. Doc and Ben talked about playing in Italy, getting a pasta meal in Italy, going to Australia and getting a "shoey", Chris Pontius being a big fan of Slomosa, starting the band 10 years ago, deciding to release their album during the pandemic, their first major festival response, touring America and so much more! After Jefferson Airplane disbanded, Paul Kantner and Grace Slick still needed to fill their album requirements for RCA so they assembled a group of musicians to make the albums...somewhere along the way they formed into Jefferson Starship. One of the musicians that Paul called in was his long time buddy David Freiberg. Since 1974 David has been a part of Jefferson Starship. 52 years later, 5 gold and 3 platinum albums later David is still leading them on stage. Before Jefferson Starship comes to Fernandina Beach, David was nice enough to come on the show! Dave and Doc talk about Dave meeting Paul Kantner, staying with David Crosby, going to jail for marijuana, starting Jefferson Starship, leaving Starship, rejoining Jefferson Starship, adding Cathy Richardson, recording new tracks and much much more! Jovin Webb started singing as a child, as he grew older he played all over the Gulf coast area playing all the soul and blues venues. In 2020 he got introduced to a national audience thanks to the 18th season of American Idol where he ended up reaching the top 10 finishers. Jovin ultimately used the momentum to propel his career, releasing his debut album in 2024 titled Drifter. Over the last two years he's worked on music, toured around the world and just this past week released his second album Son of a Sinner! For the rest of the year Jovin will be touring the world promoting the album. He's coming to Lakeland Florida on November 14th! Before the show Jovin was nice enough to stop by the show! Tommy London and Britt Lightning have been living and breathing rock and roll for almost the last two decades. Tommy fronted the Dirty Pearls for over a decade, then released his solo work. Britt started in a band Jaded and then started playing guitar for Vixen in 2017. Tommy has been playing great rock and roll on SiriusXM for the last 7 years. But over the last 2 years they've been working on something new, their new project, their new band, The Jetsetters! The band is all about high-octane rock and roll and they just released a new single Above the Noise and are planning on releasing a full album by next year. Tommy and Britt were nice enough to stop by the show and talk about the new band! Fritz Michel has had an amazing career in acting. He's been in on stage, in TV's and in movies for the last 3 decades. During the pandemic he turned his focus to a new creative outlet, songwriting. Fritz had been playing music for a long time, but had never tried his hand at writing songs. He wrote a few songs and he was hooked. He started working with Tosh Sheridan to polish and edit these songs and more musicians started to join the fold. Eventually the group of musicians turned into the band Young Allies. They just released their EP Fingers Entwined and Gavin Price and Fritz Michel were nice enough to stop by the show! Fritz, Gavin and Doc talk about starting out in college with different majors, getting into acting, Gavin starting out on trombone, Fritz working back to music, starting work on the EP, Fritz's daughters reaction, and so much more! Kevin Nealon made his debut on Johnny Carson back in 1984 and ever since then he's been a mainstay in comedy. Two years after getting on Carson, Kevin joined Saturday Night Live and was a major cast member for 9 seasons, he anchored weekend update from 1991 to 1994. He's appeared in over 30 movies like Happy Gilmore, Anger Management, Just Go with It and more. He started in the amazing show Weeds for 8 seasons. And he has his own talk show titled Hiking with Kevin. During all of those accomplishments and jobs he's been doing standup for the last 42 years. But, finally...FINALLY he can add being a guest on the Doc G Show to that list of accomplishments and pieces of work! Mark Wilson joined Jet just a year after they formed in 2002 only a year later they were signed to Electra and recording their debut album Get Born in Los Angeles. The album helped them become one of the biggest bands in the world in the early 2000's with songs like "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". The band played and toured the world but sadly the band broke up in 2012. They got back together in 2016 and have been touring ever since. They are getting ready to come through Florida in just a week and a half and before they perform Mark Wilson was nice enough to stop by the show! Doc and Mark talk about what kind of music he listened to growing up, how he got interested in bass, how he joined Jet, what it was like recording Get Born, crazy tour stories, the band breaking up, the band opening for the Rolling Stones, the band opening for Bruce Springsteen, Mark starting the ARC, Jet touring again and so much more.
