Chapter 15 of Dr. Dolittle by Hugh Lofting read by Kevin Hayes The Story-Man
*Parental Advisory*
***This is read from the original text of Doctor Dolittle written by Hugh Lofting over 100 years ago. There are portions of this story that you may want to discuss with your children as you listen. One particular instance is when Prince Bumpo asked Dr. Dolittle to bleach him white so he can be a white prince. Dr. Doliitle says that he should not want to do that because he looks fine the way he is. However, he does help him do that temporarily as that is what Prince Bumpo wants in trade to help the Doctor and his crew escape from his Father's prison.
This is a great classic story that holds many lessons for readers but it should be understood that some of the wording and ideas are from the time it was written over a century ago.
I did not edit the original story. It is the work of the author Hugh Lofting and it is read as he wrote it. I believe we can learn and help children learn from things in these old classic stories. Both from good examples as well as from examples of things that could or should be done differently today.****
